How to unlock the Unstoppable achievement in Outbreak - Definitive Guide
Some of you may get lucky with this and be blessed by the gaming gods with a buggy glitch. Sometimes the game forgets that you started over. For example, your last run you might have made it to level 14. Well when you start a new game it adds 14 +1. So, by level 11 it would give you credit for level 25. Even better, it will sometimes compound your last games, (plural!) In my case I just passed level 3 when it unlocked this achievement. I never even made it past level 20 and the achievement popped. Just check the leaderboard. It says I cleared wave 99. Really?
So, you might get lucky. In my case it was several hours; 20+ to be more accurate. I was just playing the game my best trying to beat it. I still dont know how it did it or why. I did go back and have figured out another more reliable and slightly more legit way to do this just because I like you all so much TA. It will take about 2-3 hours though.
In the lab map there is a trap like the one I used for the pacifist achievement. I chose Nora again because of her barricade boost. The trap is in the center of the map.
General Tips:
-reload off-screen (you might see me not do, but I only do it if I am waiting for the barricade)
-when your AI is around you can hide behind them to avoid damage
-use your bare hands to conserve ammo (or your bear hand if you are a shape-shifter)
-drop the barricade once at least 2 MFs are visible; kung-fu or run in circles until they are there
-stay healthy and heal often
-dont start firing on the mob until there is at least 8 jerks present
-only fire from a barricade and wait for another to be ready before you start again
-only fire a few shots or until the mob is stuck again
-run away and fight with your bare hands (this will save ammo and avoid setting another shit-bag free)
-you can not fire through the barricade so dont fire more than 3 grenade rounds in row
-if you get into trouble with 2 or more baddies, you can run to the bottom room and circle there until a barricade is ready
Hopefully the videos speak for themselves but I will give you some insight as to what I did here and why:
Wave 1- purchase the knife. Dont use it unless you really get into some trouble in the next few waves. Hurry to the trap
Wave 2- run up to the northwest hallway and purchase the grenade launcher and come back. Avoid using ammo
Wave 3- purchase as many blue salves as you can and stash them in your room. Avoid using ammo
Wave 4- have at least 2 mixed salves in your room. Avoid using ammo
Waves 5/8- start purchasing a mix of shotgun shells and grenade rounds and stashing them in your room. Use your ammo on spiders if they are near you
Waves 8/30 you probably have lost your AI by this point and that is OK. It is almost better that you do lose the AI around wave 7 or 8. If a single bad guy gets through use your bare hands but if 2 get through run to the bottom, circle until a barricade is ready and then fire until only 1 remains. Then karate chop.
Below are unedited videos. They are not a complete walkthrough but should be informative enough to get you started.
