How to unlock the Archaeologist achievement in Outer Wilds - Definitive Guide

Complete the ship log.

This is a fairly intensive achievement as there is A LOT to explore and see within Outer Wilds, but if you explore thoroughly and just have fun figuring out the story, you'll definitely get a majority of the nodes completed.

Here is a list of every node with the number of entries I had that unlocked the achievement (minor updates made to some of these in relation to a comment made by EyeCorporations):

EDIT: Per a comment by Hercules SR117
"This achievement is NOT missable. You can still get the achievement even if you don't speak with Hal in the Village at the beginning of the game. This will leave you with only 2 entries in the Village section."

I got the achievement last night, and I can confirm that you don't need that entry. I was stressing about this for a while because I searched the internet to try and figure this achievement out and kept finding comments from random people saying this. There are even comments in this thread which say this - and it's not true. Perhaps it was patched.

You could also add that the Chert section is likely the one that people will miss, because you have to speak to him multiple times and at different stages of the loop. I think you get 2 entries for speaking to him before the 16 minute mark. 1 or 2 entries for speaking to him after the 16 minute mark. And 1 or 2 entries for speaking to him just before the sun goes supernova in the last few minutes. Nobody is going to naturally speak to this guy all of these times, (why would you suspect that this one character has more to say, but only says it at a specific time - lame, I prefer to do everything myself without going to the internet and I had done everything but speak to this guy multiple times).

I have two questions:

1. I have every entry in the game (except for the link between Village and Esker). Every icon in my planetary ship log is in full color except for the sun - the sun is greyed out. Does this have to do with me not obtaining the achievement? Also worth noting that I'm only able to get two out of Gabbro's 4 entries - I'm aware of the patch.

2. Much simpler question: When you beat the game, does your ship log progress get wiped? I'd hate to proceed to the end of the game without the Archaeologist achievement knowing everything will be undone. I'd rest easier knowing I can go ahead, beat the game, and come back to continue troubleshooting Archaeologist.

Thanks!

@Melomonster721 - I can answer your second question. Beating the game does not wipe your ship log - so feel free to go ahead and see the ending and then come back to Archaeologist

1. There are entries required that don’t show up as icons for missing entries in the log. You need to compare with the numbers in the solution.

2. No, you can continue after game completion.

After the launch codes I walked past the statue everytime which automatically interacts with it the first time, don't even know if there is a way out of there without that interaction, and I'm not sure how I would die between getting the launch codes and the statue.
I've died a few times now collecting things and it's tracking as I would hope and expect. Thanks for the quick responses though

I'm not sure how I would die between getting the launch codes and the statue
Well, the "loop" can just end naturally while you're in the observatorium, and there's plenty of ways to die before getting the launch codes. In these cases, you will not get an option to "continue", since you're not "in the loop". But once you're in the loop, the only way to lose progress is to choose to start a new game rather than continue on your existing one.

I compared my log entries and the solution, and I'm only missing two of Gabbro's entries. So I'm in the same situation as Melomonster721. I know that the developers stated that there is just ONE missable Gabbro entry, but I talked to him at least 10 times now and I always used EVERY possible dialogue choice. But still I only have two of his entries.
So has the patch been released yet (so that someone can confirm the achievement unlocked after it), or do the developers still work on that patch? Because it definitely seems to be bugged still.

Some tips for the ones most tricky to me:
1. I did need the 6th log entry on the Sixth Location despite other comment (which was Solanum's hypothesis...). Remember to do all combinations of blue+blue, orange+blue, and orange+orange.
2. The volcanic testing site: This is not in a shallow rim crater per above comment. It is in one of the volcanoes that is shooting fireballs. You will see some rock formations on the inside that look like you can land on them, with pillars and a rune wall.
3. Use the signal scanner on the Timber Hearth bramble seed to pick up the harmonica.
4. In the vessel, before you bring the functional warp core at the end of the game, pick up the dead warp core and place it in the slot. I'm not sure if you can swap the working for the dead and do it all in one trip.
5. Nomai Grave - read the book that is floating in front of the first corpse. Shoot your scout through the seed and take pictures all the way to the ship.

Mine popped as soon as I got my last entry, don't need to beat the game.

I would like some help with a few things, if anyone can tell me where to locate what's needed to get the notes i'm missing. I'll list what i'm missing:
RED
Angler Fish Fossil: 1 Note missing. Notes I already have for it:
"Nomai Children used to play a game here. One player was the Anglerfish and wore a blindfold, the rest of the children (The Littlefish) lined up against one wall. When the Anglerfish said go, the Littlefish had to sneak across to the other side."
"The blindfold rule was added because real Anglerfish are blind."
Old Settlement: 2 Notes Missing. Notes I already have for it:
"The Nomai constructed a temporary settlement beneath their crashed escape pod."
"The nomai abandoned this settlement over growing concerns about it's stability."
Mural 1, 2, and 3 I haven't found at all.
GREY:
Chet's Camp: 2 Notes missing. Notes I already have for him:
"Chert has set up their astronomy gear on the north pole of Ember Twin."
"Chert has spotted an unusually high number of supernovae recently."
"Chert has become catatonic in response to our sun's imminent death."
Riebeck's Camp: 1 Note Missing. The Note I already have for him:
"Riebeck has set up camp at the bottom of the Crossroads. Their excitement at being surrounded by so much Nomai history is matched only by their terror of the black hole."

The achievement description is "Complete the ship log", so I guess we have to experience everything in the game, including reading all the notes..as long as they add to the log.

It's all details too. I have every node (I think) and no more "*" on nodes.

I made a post on reddit with all the entries I've found for each node so far.

Could others start doing so as well to help finalize what we all have and what not. Feel free to just post a link to your XboxDVR screenshot or the ones that show up here on TA.

I notice one thing you have that I don't. How'd you link the purple tower to the purple gravity cannon? I really think you need all details so what details do you have that I might not (check my clip above). If you have any questions about details in my clip just send me a message and I'll try to help.

The line reads:

A Nomai named Solanum was told to visit the Tower of Quantum Knowledge (on Brittle Hollow's equator) to learn one final rule before embarking on her pilgrimage to the Quantum Moon
I believe after you ride the Tower of Quantum Knowledge through the Black Hole in Brittle Hollow, there is a data node you can pick up on the middle/upper level of the tower and put into the empty wall there. Either that or there is an entry on the wall you may have missed.

I'm struggling to get the Ash Tower Project to complete... I noticed I'm missing the line about the Warp Core causing the project to stop working, but every time I pick up the warp core it doesn't update my ship log. Any ideas?

I'm also missing your Rumor line from (Red) Old Settlement -> (Grey) The Hanging City, how did you get that one?

I don't know how the game ends (no spoilers please), but, when I do reach it, am I still then able to complete the rest of the ship log in the same save file afterwards? Or must I do it all before attempting to get to the end?

Awesome thanks for the clues!

I'm definitely thinking there is a lot more connections we need to make that we just haven't discovered yet. Like why isn't the Interloper linked to anything in the main set? That seems odd to me, it's a significant piece, it's the trigger that causes the sun to explode so why doesn't that play into the rest of the story yet?

Yeah, I can't seem to find that connection for Esker's Camp and the Village I'm worried I missed it by not talking to someone before having the Statues Eyes Open, just as you may have missed Hornfel talking about them not opening for a long time no matter what they tried. Hopefully thats not the case cause that would mean having to redo everything more than likely.

Stay with Chert as the loop progresses and keep talking to him, he'll go from being his normal self, to being frightened and frustrated that the world is ending and everything he did was a waste, to right before it ends he'll be catatonic and just ask you to sit with him.

By LifeSuxPlayHALO on 04 Jun 2019 21:11
@LifeSuxPlayHALO It's Brittle Hollow's moon. It's a location inside one of the craters, I believe it's one of the craters with a shallow rim. There is a slate inside there to read.

You'll have to time your approach and landing to be between the firing of craters. And when you're inside, even if you or your ship touches the lava once it'll kill you so be careful. Thankfully there isn't much in there aside from the log.

By zDrUnKeNMoNkEyz on 06 Jun 2019 00:53
No no no, you definitely DON'T need to manually land there to return... on Ash Twin, once a lot of the sand is sucked away, you'll find a tower shaped like a Sun... simply enter this tower, wait for the Sun Station to appear in the window above and then step into the middle of the warp pad to warp into the Sun Station.
0
0
By Ch1ps on 06 Jun 2019 01:12
@zDrUnKeNMoNkEyz You can get to the Sunstation via the Sun Tower on Ash Twin. Get there early in the the day before the sand drops to low. That way you can walk over the cacti in the room that normally block your path.

@zDrUnKeNMoNkEyz You got to get to tower as the doorway is being exposed. Then go around the room anti-clockwise to the gravity beam then up into the warp pad room. You gotta be quick.

I guess do I need to hold off on a specific detail or area to investigate if this is the case or in the event I reach the end can I still continue my notes? If that makes sense? So I just got my last “log,” and no achievement?! Does it pop when you collect the last one, or once you “beat” the game? I haven’t done that part yet so please no spoilers, but if it’s suppose to pop upon pick up, then shit 🥺

Possibly yes. As I said I didnt have one of them but the rest should come up as you progress the ship logs.

Ok, ill double check, should be back in an hour. So the dotted line you were missing, was it from a log missing or dis something elseconnect them? Also did this pop for you prior to beating the game, like before you started to do the final steps w/o going into spoilers.hly hoping its something random and not glitched for me

The cook in the village (dont remember the name) says something about Esker being in the Atterlock (the moon) but nothing appears. I believe that its something random, possibly a bug. Many players dont have this rumour line so you should not care about it. The achievement pops as soon as you find the last log. If you beat the game you can load it again (like you never beat it, unless you start a new adventure). There is no point of no return in this game!

Some easily missable ones that I needed were Bramble Island on Giant's Deep, the sixth part of the Sixth location node (with the Nomai on the moon, use stones You + Quantum Moon) and lots of Chert's dialogue

Chert’s new dialogue pops up at around the 17-18 minute mark. You’ll need to listen to his new dialogue, as well as exhaust one new dialogue option for a total of two entries.

Then the last is from around the time of the explosion, ~ 20 minutes in.

zDrUnKeNMoNkEyz The thing about the gravity cannons is there are two of them. You need to shoot with both to unlock two different log entries, one for each cannon.

@ WhyattThrash yep that was it, I hadn't noticed the ledge higher up that took me with the current that eventually led me to more Nomai writing. It's actually under the broken bridge and water fall that leads to the mine proper.

I’m missing one of the Sunless City info bits, and one of the Gravity Cannon (grey). Does anyone have a list of where the info for each can be located so I can figure out what exactly I need to do?

By Destron XXII on 15 Jun 2019 06:09
@XxDESTRON22xX I imagine you're missing the same Sunless City one I was. In the main room (where you can turn on all the lights), there's a building with ghost matter in it. It's towards the eye shrine district. You can actually jetpack around the ghost matter and find a gravity lift up to the eye shrine. There's info in that room.

As for the Gravity Cannon, you need to use the switch on the GC at Ember Twin. (You may need to have discovered the Nomai ship on the Interloper first, not sure).

It's worth mentioning that at the moment this achievement is bugged. It's possible to miss a piece of Gabbro's dialogue which will prevent the achievement from popping (I believe it's the 'Gabbro found a statue on another island' entry). However, the devs are releasing a patch soon to sort it, and anyone with all the entries except that specific Gabbro one will get the achievement. Just a heads up, some things don't show up orange even if you need more to find in that area. For example my tower of knowledge and my sixth planet both needed more but it didn't show. Just go through each one and compare it to the list in the guide. Also some times you may have discovered an area but not actually got in it. My tower of qk and 6th were this way. Got this done, now I just. Need to do the one loop run and manual sun station achievements. Loved this game, sad it's almost over.

Quick question, if you dies by other means than the supernova/ending of the loop do you have to start a new expedition and lose all log progress?

No, the only way to lose progress is to start a new game.

Thanks, just wondering as I have only ever seen "New Expedition" if I die from something other than the supernova but I think each time I was still on first cycle.

Does it save log progress as you go then or just at the end of each cycle? Meaning if I die 10 mins into the cycle do i have to re-do the stuff I discovered in that 10 mins?

You probably died before having started the loop (interacted with the statue after getting the launch codes). In which case, it would of course not loop.

Does anyone experience difficulty on navigating inside Dark Bramble to the Vessel? I got angler fish fissure and know how to avoid them, once the 2nd red spot (looks like some angler fish eggs) is reached there are 3 white spots, 1 is a final angler fish and 2 others are entrances. Am I on the right track? I can reach the vessel by sound detector method but that takes too long, I couldn't reach the ending so I am wondering if any possible shortcuts?

PhantomPlanetAP if you have to ask then there’s something you haven’t figured out yet.

Mild spoiler: while it is possible to find the correct path through pure luck, it is also possible to make your path through the Dark Bramble maze with 0 guesswork involved. You’re missing some solution as to how.

To WhyattThrashs, so you insisting on going through the old school way without giving it a try as a shortcut? of course I am missing shortcut solutions that's why I am asking. I do know how to get to the Vessel by legit method, just wondering any possible shortcuts? If my words are not clear let me clarify: like the hole on Ember Ash near somthing, you don't have to go through necessary original way to get in. no intentions of offense.
0

By PhantomPlanetAP on 01 Aug 2019 00:08
No there are no shortcuts that I’m aware of. But going through the ”legit” way just takes a few minutes, so I don’t see why you’d need one?

If it takes you too long, it still sounds like you’re missing something. And not a shortcut, just for the ”legit” solution. Again, if you’ve solved it, there’s no guesswork involved, you can get pretty much straight to where you want in just a few minutes.

Another question, there is a missing part of "Ash Twin Project" text under my "Ash Twin" planet page in my ship log map mode. it says "there's more to explore here" and I believe the missing line is "removing the advance wrap core will disable the ash twin project." Anyone Knows how to get it please?
0
0
By PhantomPlanetAP on 02 Aug 2019 14:24
Yes, when inside the Ash Twin planet where you remove the functioning warp core, there is an Orb switch you have to drag. When dragging the orb switch to open the casing to get to the warp core, only pull it to the bottom of the upward part. This will turn on a Lore Node next to that switch.

Just got this, the last one I was missing was the quantum moon locator, its on the south pole of Ember Twin. You'll need to read the writing on the wall beside the locator, then go into the crumbled building beside it and find a recording from Chert, as well as a second scroll which you can place in the wall.

Seems that the most recent update has added/changed some entries. Also, they have stated that they added a fix for Gabbro's entries.

http://www.mobiusdigitalgames.com/blog/cozier-campfires

I have all the entries listed here and on Rex's YouTube video except for Hal's Village entry and one of Gabbro's and still don't have the achievement. The only thing I can think of is that I'm missing the new/changed entries. Does anyone know what they are?

Ash Twin Tower Designs - 4 (was Ash Twin Tower Map - 3)
Sun Station - 4 (was 3)
Ash Twin Alignment Map - 3 (new)
Volcanic Testing Site - 3 (was 2)

I'm with you, I only have three of Gabbros entries but have everything else full. I'm missing just the "Gabbro remembers dying..." entry and nothing I do will get that to populate. I'm guessing the patch didn't quite work, or it only worked for people that had already started.

Ugh. I still need to restart to do the single cycle achievement and don't want to start over until I get this... maybe I'll just go back through it anyways. How annoying.

I found another thing I'm missing, the link between the Village and Eskers Camp. Apparently if you don't get that connection before getting the launch codes you can completely miss it as well like the Hal entry (which I have). I'll send them an email and see what's up.

That link shouldn’t be needed. What matters for the achievement are the entries, not the links.

By WhyattThrash on 08 Oct 2019 14:23
Yeah, I can see some people above mentioning they got the achievement without the link from the Village to Eskers camp. I guess it's that "Gabbro remembers dying..." entry that I can't get that seems to be the issue. I reeeeeally want to do the single cycle and wrap this up but don't want to redo the entire ships log, especially if it might just glitch out on me again.

It sounds like from TheShaw767 above that they know of another bug and are working on another patch related to it, guess I'll wait it out and hope the game doesn't leave gamepass before then.
0

By EvilBilboXBL on 09 Oct 2019 13:11
I think I'll probably just wait for the patch since I'll have to wait for this achievement anyways. I did hear back from support and here's what they said:

"This bug is a known issue, though a new play-through would help (the problem occurs if you die or are thrown out of conversation with Gabbro). We are currently working on patching out this bug, however, so stay tuned! "

I'm almost positive the first time I talked to Gabbro was at the very end of a cycle and I got supernova'd out of it. A fix is on the way!

So I haven't started this game on my proper account yet because of the horror stories I've heard with this achievement. Most guides seem to detail locations rather than how to get ship logs - are they all progress and collectible related and if so, do you really need to be able to figure it all out for yourself?
0
0
By NoHeroes94 on 30 Oct 2019 16:23
What do you mean? The game is completable, and after completing it you’ll just start as normal if playing it again. Or if you shut down the game and restart it, I’m sure you’ll just begin it as normal again. There’s no ”point of no return” making the achievement missable.

I didn't notice you can "beat" the game and it'll let you resume from your last play session. I thought once you get to the "end" you were stuck in that void until you get the credit scene. This game confuses me so much. One time it said I had to start a new adventure and didn't save my ship logs so I was confused and didn't want to lose that progress again.

That only happens if you die without entering the loop. As in: you do a lot of stuff on the starting planet and die without entering and exiting the observatory.

I got the missing Gabbro logs bug so i started a new expedition, and it worked like this:

1st loop - 2 logs
2nd loop - 1 log
3rd loop - 1 log

So i got all 4 logs right but the ship computer shows that i have more to explore on Gabbros island, how can that be?

Have they added a fifth log or what is going on?

EDIT: Have send same message as above to the developers, hope for a quick answer.

Thanks for the breakdown of the log entries. It helped me find the ones I was missing and clean them up with minimal time. I do have a couple of corrections, though. Under Orange, Black Hole Forge, I had 5 entries, not 3. Then, also under Orange, the correct name for what you call "Ash Twin Alignment Map" is "Alignment Angle Diagram," and it has 4 entries, not 3. Other than this, my log looked like yours.

"I'm also missing your Rumor line from (Red) Old Settlement -> (Grey) The Hanging City, how did you get that one?"

That ones annoying. In the old settlement there's a wall writing somewhere (I think it was up to the left?) that gives it.

"I noticed I'm missing the line about the Warp Core causing the project to stop working, but every time I pick up the warp core it doesn't update my ship log. Any ideas?"

I can't remember exactly, but I think when in Ash Project before you open the core housing you can get a warning to pop up telling you that removing the core will deactivate it. The marble that open it actually has a node halfway between, right before you raise it up to open the core. Move it towards to open thing but don't lift it up yet.

Does anyone know how to get all of Gabbro's Island nodes? I talked to him all possible times, I waited with him through the loop like Chert, there is nothing on his island in terms of things to read. I only have 1 of 4, and that one is "Gabbro is lounging...".

There is absolutely nothing on the island. I've tried staying with him while the tornado whisks him into space three times, I've gone through that small useless tunnel with the ghost matter, I've explored underneath the island with my ship, I've exhausted all of his dialogue options multiple times.

The 3rd village entry is miseable. It can only be obtained just after the statue opening its eyes and just before the first launch by talking to Hal. Hal is located on the left road leading to the campsite/elevator. Talk to him and insist that you saw the statue's eyes open. Dont choose something else or you will miss the entry.

I started a new game and tested that (I also didnt pick the "Hide and Seek" signal this time lol).

In general, to find stuff just explore around the areas mentioned. There are some points you’ve simply missed to explore. For specifics though:

Angler Fish Fossil: 1 Note missing: go up through the tractor beam above the fish fossil’s head and read the text left there. I remember that one because I also missed it at first :)

Old settlement: I think the murals are located pretty much right below where you enter to the settlement from the crashed ship. Just walk around the pathways between the houses and you’ll find it eventually, Just make sure you go down as well as around.

Chert I already wrote about above ^^^^. Unlocking his dialogue is time based, and starts switching from around 18 minutes in.

Riebeck I don’t remember, but try exhausting all of their dialogue.

The one from Nomai mines ”the Nomai discovered a species” I think isn’t actually from the mines, it’s by dropping down the geiser in the Village and exploring underwater. Or you can just drop down any geiser and follow the currents, they loop.

@will da bill Thank you!

@WhyattThrash I've compared numbers to several different charts and it all adds up (again, except for the last 2 Gabbros and that Esker connection), not sure what's happening here. I'll go ahead and beat the game and maybe go for other misc achievements. Maybe those actions will trigger it to pop.

Holy crap. Thank you everyone for all your contributions for this achievement. I tried my hardest to do this alone. Still haven't actually finished the game after 48 loops and who knows how many hours. Did a lot of it my own. Finally cross checked everything. I was missing 6 entries, on the Gray parts. Managed to find everything I was missing in about an hour (part of me just messing around... haha).

Now on to the final achievement for this game for me: Getting to the Eye of the Universe in one Loop!!

Just rechecked through all of the data entries and the only ones that I'm missing are 2 from Gabrro's Island. The ones that I have are the 'lounging in a hammock' and the 'aware we are in a time loop'. I don't know what ones I am missing but I have tried all of the possible dialog options and I can't get any more. Do I need to start a new game or is the patch still coming?

Make sure you explore all of the island that Gabbro is on, if I remember correctly there were some additional things to find elsewhere, but I could be mistaken, its been awhile since I played.

I'm also certain there was a workshop area on Giant's Deep accessed via an underwater entrance, that definitely had additional lore to collect. You could enter it with your ship, and then there is a ledge that can only be accessed while the island is floating in space so you have to enter the workshop and wait for it to get pulled up by a vortex.

Here's their reply when I inquired about the fix for Gabbro's entries. There will be another fix eventually:

Hi Andrew,

It seems like another bug is preventing you from getting the achievement. I apologize for the inconvenience and we are working on fixing the issue.

Any updates on this? I've compared mine with as many others as I can and in some cases I have *more* entries than other people, even though they have the achievement. A few of mine are different though, likely some rewriting from pre/post patch though. The only thing I can think of is Gabbro, I only have two of his entries. Which two am I supposed to have? Also in my game I have a node called "Ash Twin Tower Designs", but in some guides and logs I found online, that node is referred to as "Ash Twin Tower Map", and has a different picture, and different entries. Maybe that's it too? Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm kinda in panic mode now that the achievement isn't popping lmao

@EmmaGraceOgborn I finished the game weeks ago and I’m still able to come back and update my logs with the little information I have missed. You can absolutely come back to the same save file you finished the game on and complete these achievements or update logs. You won’t have to worry about losing anything or starting over.

I was missing two very scummy ones despite my ship log not showing any missed entries:

First was anglerfish cave; directly ABOVE the skull fossil there is an elevator area leading up to a new area with a wall writing - I wouldn’t have found this in a million years without a lucky google search

Second was the Bramble Seed on the home planet… I hadn’t pointed my signal detector at it to detect harmonics music. I only found the seed itself after actually finding Feldspar so that one really wound me up 😂

There is an amazing 2 part video guide on youtube that shows where to find all the Log entries, planet by planet. It's in Japanese but has caption to explain everything. If you have trouble seeing what is going on, you can slow down the playback speed. Hope this helps!

Excellent. While the other guides here offer some handy tips and a checklist to compare against they're not really helpful in actually finding the log entries, so these videos are much better for those that want to find them quickly and efficiently. I'd been using a text walkthrough on Polygon that pretty much covers everything until now.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this achievement, so just to clear up a few things:

- There has been issues with unlocking logs related to the character Gabbro. If you believe that you're affected by a bug, contact the devs at support@mobiusdigitalgames.com . IMKevin117 reports that this should be fixed now, once and for all. If the issue still remains for you, contact the devs as previously mentioned.

- There is no point of no return from which you'll lock yourself out of the achievement. The only way to lose progress is to choose to start a new game, or to never enter the loop to begin with.

- Only two logs from the starting village are required. One is missable, but it's not required for the achievement.

- You only need the log entries, the connections between them are not required for the achievement.

- The other solution lists how many entries you need for each location, but pay attention that the list of required entries has changed slightly since the game was released. So using an old list may not work.

You can check video guides if you want complete solutions, but I will list a few places that are likely missed:

You can FINALLY get this achievement in the new update 1.0.4

There was a known bug to where Gabbro didn't release his last 2 dialogue branches when you talk to him to 100% the ships log. The current update 1.0.4 they patched that so now all you need to do is start the cycle again, fly to him, and talk to him. It'll unlock immediately. I got it last night and I'm so happy they fixed it so I wouldn't have to start a new save file.

Thank you for your help. I was missing Chert dialogues and one of the two gravity cannons.
And i didn't need the 3 entries from village, only 2 needed.

I finally got this achievement. Here are the ones I was missing (I used a couple of guides to fill in the map, and make sure there were no more orange symbols on any locations), in case it helps anyone else:

1) I somehow missed the second one from the Grove Shard. Apparently I didn't read the wooden signs with the poem.

2) The sixth point from the Sixth Location. My Ship Log updated after putting two of the blue plates together, which gave me Solanum's hypothesis

3) In the Old Settlement. Going off the following video, it was the one just after the 12 minute mark.

https://youtu.be/3TlGoGWCE7s?t=720

4) Chert's various dialogue options that are only available at certain times.

5) In the Vessel, the two Nomai script's at the of those spiral ramps.

More as a supplement to the other guides, there is a site, Outer Wild Ventures, with the entire ship log in rumor mode which can help you find the last few nodes you need.

If you feel like you've been everywhere, the ship log is complete, and the achievement still isn't popping, there's two places you may have missed.

Bramble Island - Connects to Ocean Depths and Feldspar's Camp. On Giant's Deep, there is an island being overtaken by Dark Bramble vines with ghost matter hotspots. There is a campfire with logs that will lead to a one entry node.
Volcanic Testing Site - Connects to Nomai Mines. Hollow's Lantern is the volcanic moon orbiting Brittle Hollow. Go into landing mode and line yourself up with the volcano on the north pole, then back to cockpit mode and match velocity. Wait for the volcano to erupt, then exit the ship and jetpack in. There is a projection wall here with a nearby stone that will activate this node and all three entries.

This can be considered as the most time-consuming trophy of the game: you need to complete the ship log with all the informations around the world.

Each planet and moon has information and since your main objective is to find them, there is a high chance that you will get enough of them during your normal playthrough.
You will get information by:
  • speaking with people (sometimes also in different times on the same loop)
  • reading messages
  • reaching some areas
Remember: if you see some yellow * near a log, it means you still have to find data on that area.
Use this list as a check-list to find the ones you're missing:
  • Sun Station, 4 entries:
  • Ember Twin:
    • Anglerfish Fossil, 3 entries
    • Escape Pod 2, 2 entries
    • The Sunless City, 3 entries
    • High Energy Lab, 3 entries
    • Ash Twin Tower Designs, 4 entries
    • Lakebed Cave, 3 entries
    • Quantum Caves, 2 entries
    • Chert's Camp, 5 entries (in order to get two of them, speak with Chert when the Sun become a Red Giant AND when the music to the end of the loop starts)
    • Gravity Cannon, 2 entries
    • Quantum Moon Locator, 3 entries
  • Ash Twin:
    • Ash Twin Towers, 2 entries
      Ash Twin Project, 5 entries

Video guide , which you can use to check which records are missing.
I would like to point out a few things:
1. Flint (the guy who sits at the Hour of Coal) gives different log updates depending on the time at which you talk to him, so if you fly to him, start talking and meditating by the fire, as you approach the end of the loop, his dialogues will be change
2. The gravity gun at the Hour of Coal does not provide information about the fact that it is affected by the energy field. To do this, you need to fly to the void sphere and launch your ship from the gravitational gun on the void sphere

The last recording I had (and judging by the Internet for half of the others) turned out to be a recording from the volcanic moon of a void planet; towards the end of the loop, the lava settles and you can fly into one of the volcanoes, where the next namai recordings will be.

PS The arrows (rumors) are not important, I didn’t have half of the arrows at all.

Under the landing site (underwater) next to the mines on Kamelka there are also notes that are needed for the trophy.

You can check from the photo where you missed something. This makes it easier to track progress, since sometimes a location no longer has a red mark indicating that something has not yet been studied here, but in fact there may still be something left.
For example, I marked the camp with a red circle, there is an optional dialogue about whether the astronaut wants me to report him to Kamelok. Even if you don’t select it, the location will still be without an orange mark (if you studied the jellyfish and talked)

Comparing a list is, of course, good, but what to do if you don’t know how to get any entry or you’re just tired and want to finish quickly.
