How to unlock the Flat Hearther achievement in Outer Wilds - Definitive Guide

Simply get crushed by an elevator. There are several chain elevators throughout the DLC, but the most convenient is right inside the docking bay on the Sun side of the station.

After you exit your ship, take a left before going into the airlock door. There will be an alien ship on a landing pad with a wall behind it. Go back into the dark corner, and on the other side of the wall, you'll find a corridor with an elevator control panel on a podium. The elevator itself should be at the top, so all you have to do is hit the call button, then stand on the circle where the elevator will land. After you character goes splat, the achievement will pop.

Another easy place to get this is in the Hidden Gorge area, where there are two elevators... one on each side of the main walkway to either side of the raft docking station.

The elevator that I described in the solution is right inside the docking bay... you won't actually enter the artificial environment of the Stranger first.

If you approach the Stranger from the Sunward side, there'll be a platform where you can land your ship, with several other vessels already inside. There's a light-controlled door you use to go inside, but you don't want to go through that yet.

The elevator is to the left, behind a large wall. It's very dark back there, so it's easy to miss, especially since the elevator is at the top.. there's really nothing marking it as an elevator other than the call button on a stick.

If you can't find that one, there are other elevators inside the stranger that will work. Any elevator that uses a chain and goes all the way to the ground should work.

It does not seem to work with that elevator by the Alien landing pad. Each time I try it I just glitch inside the elevator.

That's odd... that elevator crushed me no problem. I actually got the achievement at the Hidden Gorge elevator, though, so I guess try that one. If more people report the glitch, I'll update the solution.

In case anyone is wondering, the elevator at the launch pad on Timber Hearth doesn't work. (It uses a cable, not a chain.)

Do you have to progress into the DLC some first before the elevator to the left appears? I'm in that area described and I don't see anything but an empty corridor.

Oh are there different entrances into the station altogether? I just entered the first blue forcefield area I saw once I entered the "Sun". I had only just started the DLC, so I can't even translate the new language yet.

It's not a huge deal, I was just about to stop playing for the day, and I figured I'd try to find an easy achievement to do real fast in the DLC at the time before quitting and ending the loop. I'll figure it out.

The stranger is basically a giant disc, and there are docking bay entrances on both sides.

If it was your first time going to the Stranger, you likely went out past its orbit, then turned around and came back from the opposite side as it eclipsed the sun. On subsequent trips, when you can follow a waypoint directly to it, you'll more likely approach the stranger on the sunward side, which is the side this elevator is on. As far as I know, there's not a corresponding elevator on the side facing away from the sun.

Yep, just tried again today, and after getting back to The Stranger(Not sure how I know what it's called at this point, but OK, lol.)I went to the sun side and the lift was there, thanks.

Special note: You will die and start a new loop

Quite easy. Find a chain elevator and lift it up without you. Now, call it back down and stay under it.
