How to unlock the Collector achievement in Outland - Definitive Guide

There is a nice guide by Auburok (with pictures showing where the marks are on the in-game map) over on x360a. The marks are listed in the order in which you will encounter them in the game:

got 41 of 42 right now, not sure where the one I'm missing is, but I read on that guide finding the last one will double melee damage, looking forward to that.

Positive vote.

It means you can't copy the content to another site and claim it as your own. I'm not doing that, posting a link is not the same thing! :)

@EightGramsOfFat: Have you learned the launch ability yet? I believe you need that to get up there, but you don't get it until later on in the game. That's probably why he left it until last.

If I die after getting a MotG but before reaching a checkpoint, do I have to get it again?

You can reload your save after beating the game and you'll be just before the final boss. These are not missable.

Great guide. Worked nicely to mop up. I was missing 5 or so before grabbing last one.

The last map (Eternity) link seemed broken, but thankfully they had descriptions for the marks and I was able to finally complete this achievement. Thanks!

Used the other guide on here linking a PS3 guide for this to find the last one. And just noticed that the guide you link to says "This guide is to not be posted anywhere but x360a.org without my permission."

So I hope you did get his permission :-)

Still positive vote.

I'm following this guide but for #33 " I saved this one for last in our backtrack since it’s so “fun”. Teleport to Forgotten Quarter, and head down and to the right, then up the yellow elevator platform to The Ministry area. Backtrack to the area before the first block room, and head up to the checkpoint. By the checkpoint there’s a launch pad. Shoot up, then right. It’s sitting be the wall to the right. Figure out your own way home!"

I cant for the life of me figure out how to get up. I can backtrack back to the forgotten quarter but I cannot get out of there for the life of me. Going up the left is impossible because of enemies and impossible jumps. Any help?

Do not use the Boss Key at The End Of All Things or just do not climb up the ladder once inside there, if you wish to collect more items before you experience the final fight for your first time. You would be able to backtrack by using a Teleport in there though. Collect all 42 Mark Of The Gods - retrieve the Sword Of The Gods - damage caused, will be increased. In conclusion, ten Gallery items, and three ingame rewards will be unlocked this way.

Solution 1: You have gained the power of the Energy Shield - since you are almost absolutely powerful now, you shall choose to continue to collect items. There will be also a special second reward for collecting your 32nd Mark Of The Gods - the Treasure Map has been unlocked - remaining Money Vases will be revealed on the Maps. You want the Doubloons that are contained in those, as you require to alot 1000000 Doubloons for the Millionaire Achievement. You may accumulate about 750000 Doubloons once you have collected every item in the world. There is no reward for collecting all 208 Money Vases. After that you shall concentrate on the Arcade Chapters to aim for the World Records! I will let you people know if the collected Doubloons there will be added towards the corresponding Achievement progression, or not - as soon as it has been figured out!

Solution 2: Started to replay its Story - playing the Story anew does not help to continue to collect items - everything would be blank. Fortunately, Outland is extremely great - so replaying it is definitely worthwhile and enjoyable - but it is not required to continue to collect items - you can always backtrack from complex to complex - yet this may be uneasy if you seek to find a path to some of a location you have in your mind. Because of this, and when you intend to use a guide to find all Mark Of The Gods, but you have already played Outland too far in order to find yourself confident when using a guide to find all Mark Of The Gods, you can decide to start its Story anew. Perhaps Achievement progression for collecting 1000000 Doubloons to claim the Millionaire Achievement will be continued while doing so. But, it is currently not known - Solution update is intended as soon as possible, in order to clarify it. Help with information about other people's findings. Please contribute your knowledge. Thank you!

Hint 1: You know if you have bought a specific Upgrade - the icon of its Upgrade Shrine on Map became semitransparent, if positive. Get Upgrades to extend consumed Ability use and increase chance of survival.

Hint 2: Some Open Doors are falsely shown as Closed Doors by its Map icons. It may be not true to be locked - get close to location and it would correct information shown on Map, if positive. Occurrence only during backtracking.

Additional Information 1: There are eight Health Upgrades, and seven Energy Upgrades to purchase.

Additional Information 2: Did you knew, that in Outland, you can play every Mode from Single Player also in Online Cooperative? It is awesome!

Exploration tracking: Yet you can teleport to most of the areas, but this will not help you ultimately to collect every item since these areas have no Teleports, and can only be accessed through Level Transitions:

I certainly don't mean to be rude, but this "guide" is way off the mark. No Youtube video posted. No mention of where the marks of the gods are. Not even a link redirecting to a guide that shows where the marks can be collected. Instead, most of what you state, for the most part, is pretty simple information that the game will pretty much show you as you progress. Honestly, If you are going to post a guide, then you should at least attempt to make it relevant.

This information here which I provide for the people, will lead to their solution for the corresponding task, especially when they have been unaware, that to several areas can not be teleported to, but more areas do still exist - the list of these areas shall be used systematically, to discover any remaining Mark Of The Gods, once all Mark Of The Gods from areas to which can be teleported to, have been collected. Status information shall be reviewed which this video game provides specifically on Maps, to find out about your collection status of Mark Of The Gods exclusively to current area. I have no copyrights for this video game, therefore I am not allowed to produce and transmit video or image data about it.

There are 9 Health upgrades, so you can get to 12 Health total.

The Marks of the Gods are hovering golden idols. You have to collect forty-two total. You can check your progress by clicking the back button to open the Player Statistics screen.

Here's a nice, comprehensive and well organized guide I used to find the marks. It's a PS3 guide, but it works for the 360.

While getting this achievement, you'll also get:

I only needed to find one more, and just by looking at these maps I knew exactly which one it was. Thanks to you, and whomever created those maps.

Got them all thanks to your guide and the maps from pstrophies. Most of them were easy to find anyway.

There are 42 Marks of the Gods in Outland. Fortunately, each area's map will tell you how many remain. None of them are missable but keep in mind that not every area has a teleporter so you will have to walk. Can only be done in single player. Here is a guide with maps.

The Marks of the Gods are golden helmets scattered all over the Zones. You will unlock various content as you collect them: pieces of concept art and also some extra abilities.

You can check an area map to see if there any Mark of the Gods in it (press and look at the bottom left corner). Go to the 'Player Statistics' menu (, then ) if you want to see how many Marks of the Gods you have collected overall.

You will find a Marks of the Gods guide in this thread.
