How to unlock the Don’t Go Alone achievement in Outland - Definitive Guide
First of all you need to unlock Co-op Challenge room in a single player game. They looks like large circle that light up purple when you walk near them.
Then select "new game" from main menu and than select "coop challenge".
It's better to boost it with a friend, cause you can wait a long time for a random partner.
El Dorado is best of all to get the achievement. It's very easy and takes less than 2 minutes.

Yes, the co-op challenges can only be completed online, there's no local multiplayer.

Don’t Go Alone - Complete any Co-op Challenge Room (General)
Difficulty : Very Easy
Length : Very Short
As stated, you need to complete a Co-op challenge.
However, I just want to add that now that the game is Backward compatible, you can do it with your Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
With your real profile, start the game on the Xbox 360. Start the game on the Xbox One with a dummy account. Invite your dummy account into the game and you can start it.
The El Dorado challenge is very short, but I tried to do it "alone" (by switching controllers) and it proved very hard. I asked my girlfriend to take control of a character and it was very easy.
Bring another TV, stream the Xbox One to a Windows 10 pc/laptop/tablet. Or simply share the screen, the camera will be centered to a character and the other must follow not to get lost out of the screen. If you stay close of each other, you should not have any problems.

Wow, I'm glad it helped you. And that you could do it alone.

Wasn't super easy to do alone but I did it double-box / one screen on my third try. Hardest part is the place where you have two hit two switches at once and run past the barriers they raise/lower. You can stand one person on the front barrier and retrace with the other character to drop the other barrier, it will work and you will have time (barely). The rest of the switches aren't timed. It's probably a lot easier with a partner though 😅

Obtained after completing a Co-op challenge room, which are unlocked in the story mode. There are five options to play. The first option that you can unlock in the Jungle, El Dorado, is the easiest. Complete the challenge under the time limit to get the achievement.
