How to unlock the Survivor achievement in Outland - Definitive Guide

You can probably get this from the start, not sure if there are 20 enemies before the “flashback” to the future (Look at comments, and read TVthePunisher method for gaining this achievement earlier than my solution.)

Otherwise it's fairly easy to get in the City world on The City Walls map. It's right after you have beaten the 2nd boss. The reason for this is that you will get your Beam Attack here, and right above the place where you get it, there is a lot of flying jellyfish (around 12). At your convenience there is also an Energy Crystal, so you can charge up the Beam Attack endlessly (this is the best place to get the Overkill achievement too). Move further up to the next checkpoint – it's right besides a big blue shield soldier.

Die so all the enemies respawn. Then let the big blue solider get you down to 1 heart pounding heart. Get back to the checkpoint on the right, kill the 2 small soldiers before you jump over the the big one – from the ledge besides the checkpoint – and start backtracking down to the Energy Crystal, killing (almost) everything on your way back down. Save your Beam Attack (you should have 2 energy bars at this point) for dropping down and attacking straight away, and for killing flying foes. When I had beam killed all the flying jellyfish at the Energy Crystal, I still needed more kills. So I did a bit more backtracking to the left, beamed a blue flying jellyfish, refilled energy and did a drop down to the moving platform, beamed a red one – and one more soldier form the big group below the moving platform.

Beware of health hearts dropping down on you, especially at the Energy Crystal where you beam attack a lot.

I tried (before reading this) to kill a few enemies at one health, go to another screen, come back and kill the respawned units. This did NOT work.

This solution stays in one map - The City Walls. If you by "go to another screen" cross maps, maybe the kill count is lost. Try and do it at the map I suggest - if you haven't already - and best of luck!

thanks. best method by far! I had 20 kills already halfway through killing the jellyfish at the energy crystal. I killed everything on my way down with laser beams. It's possible, if you bought all energy upgrades along the way.

It's a good idea to update your guide with TVthePunisher findings, otherwise you may risk receiving negatives votes

Was worried about this one, turns out it was super-easy +1

I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty sure dying resets the counter. I just tested this and killed at least 30 enemies.

I made this way, was easy but very boring. Thanks for your solution.

I can confirm that neither the very first area or the second area (referred to as Rites of Passage) have enough enemies for this achievement. Just throwing that out there as I killed every single enemy on one health in the second area (which has close to 20 but I didn't exactly count, probably somewhere around 15-18 total). I did however manage to obtain the achievement in the fourth area, Jungle: Jungle Lowlands. Basically the level AFTER the 30,000 Years ago flashback stage. There are 24 enemies here, 23 of which can be found before moving onto the next area and dealing with all those pesky blue energy thingies. Mostly spiders and those spike thingies...don't know what they're called yet ;>_> (just started the game). With enough dodging and well timed movements, it can be gotten as early as this stage.

I got this during the Golem boss fight. Get His health low enough so he starts to smack the tree and drop the bug looking things. (Make sure you have only one heart as well.) They die in one hit and all you need to do is avoid his shockwave attack. Make sure you don't get the Golem's health too low or he will start attacking with light and dark energy from the sky.

Once you work out the pattern you should get the achievement with relative ease.

I did this after I had nearly beaten the game, but you can use this method as soon as you obtain light energy. This method should be easy because all the enemies are neutral, and will die with one hit.

Backtrack back to "The Story Begins" get down to one hit point, and then you can kill however many enemies you can, try to get at least 2 or 3.

NOTE: When at 1 health enemies will drop health very frequently, you must avoid it, or you will need to restart. When I did this I made sure to avoid the health, rather than destroying it, if anyone can confirm this working with destroying the health I will edit the guide.

After this go right to "Origin: Rites of Passage" and kill the enemies in this level, there should be 18, locations are listed below.

You should see 6 spiked enemies running on two separate blocks very soon in the level. After that jump to the right, above the top ladder and you will find 2 spiders. At the bottom of the ladder there will be another 2 spiders, one at the bottom, and another to the left.

Drop down the chasm and you'll find another spider, near the diamond blue lights. Keep following the path to the right and you'll hit a checkpoint, and at the bottom of that drop will be another spider. Drop and you'll find another 2, one at the left of a slide spot, and another to the right when you jump up. Go back and slide down and there will be another spider. Keep following this path and you should find 2 more.

Next you'll have to backtrack back up and slide under 2 sets of spikes and then through a small opening where you will find 2 more spiders.

You should be able to get 18 kills in "Origin: Rites of Passage" if I counted correctly.

This does indeed work if you destroy the health. I did this method and then came here to write a solution but I see you have already written one about the same method lol.. I destroyed every health that the enemies dropped so I didn't accidentally pick it up, and as soon as I hit 20 enemies the achievement popped.

I also can confirm that destroying the hearts does not void this.

I had trouble finding my way all the way back to Origin: Rites of Passage, but the first jungle level worked the same way (all neutral enemies) and there were tons of them so this method took me about 10 mins. Thanks!

This must be done without leaving an area and is best done early in the game. Reduce your health to one heart and kill 20 enemies. The Jungle areas are a reasonably easy area to do this in. Be sure to use your slide ability to daze enemies and take your time. If a heart spawns from an enemy or a jar that's blocking your path attack it until it turns into doubloons. Must be done by one player without assistance if playing Co-op.

You have to kill 20 enemies with only one heart. You know you have only one heart left when you hear a constant and rapid heartbeat. Also, your life bar usually filled with green hearts will have a red pumping heart.

It's easier to do this early in the game. The 'Jungle: Above the Canopy' area is a nice one to get this trophy. If you find a heart by breaking a vase or killing a foe, destroy it with a few melee attacks.

Alternatively you can use the method suggested by jacoblykke:

For the survivor trophy; I found it easy to get this one at the same spot as the millionaire trophy. after killing all the fish. continue down, take out a few men walking around, continue further down and take out some of the spike creatures and then it should pop. kill yourself and respawn if you need to continue the hunt for millionaire trophy. At least that is how I did it, hope it can help.

Note: You must kill the enemies in a unique area. Going back and forth between areas, using Teleporters, and picking up a heart will reset your 'killstreak'.

It's easiest to do in the first chapter. Let's watch the video.
