How to unlock the Big Game Hunter achievement in OUTRIDERS - Definitive Guide

The hunt quest will be available once you proceed throughs the main story. You’ll need to arrive in Trench Town and speak with Grand Marshal Corrigan. Once you speak with him, the saloon will open. The saloon is located in the middle of town and is accessed via the white and red double doors. Speak with the bartender about his scars and it will open the quest line.

Each hunt will open by continuing the main quest line in their respective areas.

The easiest way I’m finding to unlock this achievement is to complete the main story to unlock all the locations, then go to each location with a paw print icon then:

1. Go to the carrion marked to start the hunt
2. Mark the Quest and follow it
3. Enter the dungeon and take out the boss
4. Return to whoever it tells you to
5. Go to next location and repeat

I know this is getting dislikes cuz it’s not the easy answer you’re looking for. This took me literally an hour, and it’s the easiest method. Not everything has a quick grab solution, you’re going to have to put in the time.

I think people dislike "guides" like this as it isn't exactly a guide nor is it needed, cheevo is self explanatory. Either way you're helping some people but most old school TA members don't like it...

This is required for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png

The Wanted questline and the Hunter questling both start in the same area. You'll need to progress through the story until you reach Trench Town, then complete the initial story-related quests to open up the bar area. Once it's open, head inside and speak to the bartender, Noah. He'll ask you to track down any big and mean monsters you can, then return its trophy to him in exchange for some pretty decent gear. There are 10 monsters total, the last of which is found in Canyon of the Grand Obelisk so you won't be able to actually get this trophy until you're pretty close to finishing the campaign. You'll be able to see if an area has a Monster for you to track down and kill when you're on the world map. Just scroll over each area and if "Hunter" is listed under the available quests (and not grayed-out), it means there's a monster to kill. There will also be a yellow "!" and, depending on which patch you're playing on, the Hunter icon.

When you're in an area, just open the area map and if there's an object to pick up, it'll show as an icon on the map. You'll need to look for a yellow "!" to actually pick up the quest so you can complete it (it'll be a pile of bones). These are usually either right by where you'll actually find the monster or just next to your camp.

These can be done at any point so long as the area they're located in is open and captured (has a travel point). While you can wait until you finish the story to do these, the gear rewards you get from this can be quite beneficial early on in the game so it's recommended you do them as you go. The list of the monsters and their locations are as follows:

Coldclaw - Eagle Peaks
Oreyard Queen - Wreckage Zone
Bigjaw - Quarry
Splittooth - Forest Enclave
Moldfang - The Stronghold
Spinewretch - Ancient Ruins
Wendigo - The Gate
Hauras - Dunes
Sandshifter - Desolate Fort
Typhon - Canyon of the Grand Obelisk

Each of these will also count as a journal entry towards One for the Books trophy_silver.png.

There are a total of 10 tasks in the chain, each of which is done in its own location on the global map. They have a paw icon and surrender in the second peaceful city in the story (in a bar).
As with the “Historian” and “Wanted” quest chains, you are guaranteed to receive a legendary item at the end.
Accordingly, if you want to get the most out of such a reward: do the last task already at the maximum level of 30 and having a world level of 15, then you will receive a reward of the maximum available level and you will not have to spend a lot of titanite to increase the level of the legendary.
