FYI - This is cumulative between characters. I had been playing as a Trickster for a while and then, for kicks, decided to try out another class. I popped the achievement after meleeing just two enemies with my Devastator. Also, you can check your progress in the "Combat" section of the Accolades menu.

I am sad to say I missed totally the melee button thing until I was already in the desert... Easy achievement, only sed RS button on bunch of enemies, no LB/RB skills for this one. :)
