How to unlock the Extreme Engineering achievement in OUTRIDERS - Definitive Guide

Once you meet a certain person, (won't say who because of spoilers) you will have him at your camp and he will introduce you to the crafting table. The achievement is cleared by simply swapping mods on gear. You can easily use your leather mats for attire and iron for weapons to do this right away, or naturally clear the achievement by swapping mods that fit your needs.

To do this, select the gear or weapon while at the crafting table. On the right hand side select mod gear. Choose a mod from any of the tiers and select slot 1 or 2. In early game there is probably only one slot. Make sure you apply it by using your materials on the left underneath the gear or weapon you selected.

How do you swap mods on gears? I swapped mods using the "Mod Gear" option from Mr. Z and there was no progress on the achievement.

+1 Worked perfectly for me. I had over 7000 leather at the point I did mine, and it only cost 88 to swap each time. Tracker worked fine too. Literally a no-brainer.

Like the above crafting achievement, this will be done with Zahedi. Any blue (rare) item or above will have mod slots, and you'll need to overwrite existing mods on items a total of ten times. You will get new crafting mods by dismantling items with mods equipped.

This should unlock naturally for you so long as you're modding your gear based on the current skills you have equipped. You'll only be able to mod gear after you've rescued Dr. Zahedi and he becomes available in your camp. Talk with him and choose the "I want to mod my gear" option. From here, select any item from the left side (preferably one you actually have equipped) and then choose "Mod Gear" on the right. There are 3 Tiers of mods but if you're going based on your skills, you'll only need the first tier. The mods will cost Leather for armor and Iron for weapons. You can only Mod on slot on a weapon (so long as it's of Rare/Blue value at least). When you've found a Mod you want, choose which slot you want it to go in, then hit "MOD SLOT" on the bottom right. Do this to 10 items and the trophy will unlock.

You should absolutely be changing out your Mods when you change out your skills. With each class having 8 skills and 5 possible armor mods to place, you should get this without putting in much of any effort.
