How to unlock the Coup de Grâce achievement in OUTRIDERS - Definitive Guide

TL;DR

-Have 2 guns with 2 mod slots each
-Equip different status mods in all slots
-Hit an enemy with a few bullets from each gun, hopefully you can kill them quick enough before the status effects wears off. (Some only last ~4 seconds)
- Consider using an ability to quickly finish them off

Status effects are inflicted on enemies through guns with mods and some special powers. For the sake of the guide we'll be looking at weapon mods. Mods start to appear on blue and above guns. Epic purple guns have 2 mod slots, bingo, so we'll be utilising these.

What you'll want is two guns, with 4 mod slots, with each mod causing a different status effect. (Bleeding, freeze, slow, vulnerbility etc). Once equipped, hit and enemy with a couple of bullets from each gun. This should trigger all 4 status issues, and hopefully you're quick enough to kill them. If you weren't quick enough consider using an ability next time to kill them quickly, some status effects only last ~4 seconds.

If you're killing them too quickly with just 1 gun consider trying it on an elite enemy on a lower WT difficulty

Notes
You don't need epic weapons - it's actually probably easier with two skills and two weapons. Just make sure your skills have two (or three) different status effects and then apply the last with a weapon or two.

I used Hunt The Prey (Weaken with an armor mod), Slow Time (Slow), a Toxic SMG and pistols with Freeze.

I did it with three weapons lol but I saw on another site that with Trickster you can do this effortlessly:

- Use Hunt The Prey to apply Vulnerable
- Immediately use Slow Trap to apply Slow and Weakness
- Kill enemy with weapon that inflicts a status effect (Burn preferred since it actively deals damage)

You can do something similar as a Devestator. Set a gear mod to have the Endless Mass (lvl 22 unlock) skill inflict vulnerability to the enemies it pulls. This plus the ability's natural bleed effect gives you two status effects. If you have an epic (purple) gun with one ammo mod you can add a second ammo mod to the other slot. I set one of my epics to shoot fire and toxic bullets.
In an expedition you can get 10+ enemies to pull on an Endless Mass use which gives a high chance one or more will receive all four effects when you shoot them.

I was able to get this by using a weapon with the "Anomaly Mutation" perk. The perk causes any status effect on an enemy to mutate into new effects and multiply. I ended up giving an enemy 6 different effects at once using this perk and using the Pyromancer ability "Volcanic Rounds" to inflict the first status effect

Quick question, did the anomaly mutation perk come from a legendary weapon? Or lower rarety?

I believe it was a legendary weapon I got from killing a boss. More specifically, it would have been from

since that's the only legendary I have received in the game

This achievement is easier than it sounds. You can mod weapons to add up to two status effects per weapon (you'll have to find a weapon with one effect already on it, then add a second) and you can simply do this with two weapons and switch between them to get four different effects that way. You can also rely on your character's melee ability and active skills which often apply effects as well (for instance, Technomancer melee freezes, and you can use Blighted Rounds as well). Once you have four effects on an enemy (which you can see just below their health bar), kill them before the effects wear off to unlock the achievement.

Depending on what class you chose will determine when you can actually go for this trophy. The status effects are the DoTs and debuffs that get placed on enemies when you attack them (Burn, Weakness, Slow, Freeze, etc). You need to have 4 of these active on an enemy when they die. There's a good chance you won't be getting this until late in the game and by that time, your attacks should be well too powerful to get this on a scrub enemy. Your goal should be to do this on an Elite since they have more health, allowing you to stack the effects on them as needed.

If your weapon doesn't have a/any status effect mod/s on it, you'll want to alter it so it does (see Inventor's Almanac trophy_silver.png for more info regarding Mods). You want this effect to be separate from whatever your skills will place on the enemy. For instance, a pyromancer's skills will usually put "Ash" or "Burn" on the enemy so you want your weapon to place Weakness, Frozen, Slow etc. If you can, you want to find a weapon that already has a status effect in one slot, then mod the other slot with an additional effect. Worst case, you can place an effect on your main weapon, secondary weapon and side arm, then just switch through your guns during the fight. If you haven't earned this by the time you finished the story, you can use the expeditions since those will spawn a lot of Elites for you to practice on. Be aware that while 4 icons might appear on the healthbar of the enemy you're fighting, you need to make sure their images are all different. A skill that causes "Burn" and a weapon that causes "Burn" will appear as two effects but since they are not unique, they'll only count as one towards this trophy. The different effects you can have are as follows:
  • Ash
  • Bleed
  • Burn
  • Exposed
  • Freeze
  • Immobilize
  • Marked
  • Slow
  • Toxic
  • Vulnerable
  • Weakness

Once you have defeated an enemy with 4 unique effects active, the trophy will unlock.

Leave this achievement until purple items drop (~from level 15). Purple weapons have 2 modifiers, which is what we need. For example:
  • Poisons
  • Slows down

Well, the second weapon, which:
  • Sets fire
  • Bleeding

We shoot from one at the enemy, change through Y to the second, finish off with it.
The achievement is elementary.

And if you connect skills, the enemy will die with 6 modifiers.

Well, just as an example, I played as a technomancer, threw the turret to freeze, turned on poison bullets, pumping up the vulnerability to poison, and the fluff caused a weakening)

Condition effects are displayed as icons above the enemy's HP bar.
There are the following types:
- Pillboxes (damage over time): bleeding, ignition, toxicity
- Control: ash, freeze, slow
- Debuffs: weakness (reduces target's attack), vulnerability (target receives more damage)

Accordingly, you need to kill the enemy under any 4 of these effects.
All these effects can be inserted into weapons in the form of mods, and these mods are of the first level, so if you find any epic gun with at least one, you can replace the second one.
For armor, you can find a level 2 mod for bleeding from crits - but it will be difficult to find it since it can only be found on epic armor. There is also a mod for freezing nearby enemies when there is little HP - but again at the second level. Some class mods also add status effects to abilities.
Most often, a class can achieve 1 (trickster slow/technomancer toxicity) or 2 effects (ash and pyromancer ignition) on its own without using anything additional.

If you are a pyromancer, then calmly insert something other than ignition and ash into the cannon and calmly do it.
On the trickster, I personally did this - I inserted a mod to impose weakness on those who got into the dome + 2 mods for teleporting: slowing down and vulnerability. Inserted toxicity into the pistol: shot, teleport, dome and finish = achievement in your pocket.

The easiest way is to do it with a friend or a random person, since one can set it on fire, the other can slow it down, and so on. and here you don’t have to worry about it at all, just do it.
