Finish any race (A to E) using the automatic gears. Quickest way seems to be Outrun Mode taking route A, the easiest.

Select automatic transmission and complete any race from the start to the goal, through any 5 areas for this to unlock.
You just have to finish the race, you do NOT need to win.
