There's a few things you can add to this solution to make things go faster.
For starters, the versus levels last different amounts of time. The Ravenous Rapids level is only 3 minutes, whereas a lot of other levels are 5 minutes.
Another big help is if you have 2 controllers and the second one is signed in as a guest it counts as 2 games at a time. I haven't tested this with 4 controllers, but that could mean you only need to play 4 matches.
The final piece of advice is you can combine this achievement with a lot of the "4 player" achievements if you have at least 2 controllers.

If the versus achievements don't work for you, try turning off all assists. Was having issues and they seem to be tracking now they're off.
