How to unlock the Dark Emperor achievement in Overlord II - Definitive Guide

This is mainly for the last phase, because the first two are very well explained in the other solution. But i found a really easy way to defeat the last boss.

Ok, before this. Get your spell at a high level. It isn't required, but if you got it at the max. level you only need to drain Solarius energy twice.

At first take your blues and get rid of the blue slime or whatever the hell it is. Then you get your green minions and take out the 3 pimples at the back. This only takes a few seconds if one or 2 green hang on each pimple. I would also say you put some money to get all the minions on a higher level.

Now he will start puking enemys. Take all the minions except for the greens and put them on a marker right next to the boss so they will kill all the enemies that spawn and the reds will also shot at the last pimple. Get your greens into the fight when he smashes his head on the ground.

when Solarius comes out, just use the spell to drain his energy. As said before, I highly recommend upgrading your magic, because it you will have to do this 4-5 times instead of just 2.

After Solarius is back in the monster, take the greens and go to his back to attack all the pimples that spawned again. Just repeat this. If your fast he can only produce one or two enemies.

I just wrote this, because I got really frustrated with the last phase before dicovering the method.

Excellent guide. Had a few goes at about 20 minutes a go, with no success. Then read this and completed in less than 5 minutes. +1

This is unlocked at the end of the game when you've killed Solarius. I did this with a horde of 30 and almost no browns. Take 5 blues, five browns, and 20 greens for the first area. Have the blues clean up the goo on the ground, make the browns stand on a guard marker killing zombies, and make the greens go crazy on the boss. You should lose little to no health this round.

After he moves away, use your blues to clean up the goo again and switch your greens for reds. Put the blues at a safe distance so that they can safely heal and have your browns go and kill the empire soldiers on the high ledge. Now sweep your reds back to the same place you killed the empire dudes at and put them on a guard marker. Use your browns to clean up zombies and your reds will get the higher pustules that your greens couldn't get.

Now the final area. You want to have 10 browns here and 7 greens 7 reds and 6 blues. Have four blues on a guard marker back in the road and two on the edges to heal and clean goo. Now have your greens and reds go crazy on the guy while your browns kill the enemies he craps out. Do this until his head thing hits the ground and you can kill him with your axe. This will shoot out Solarious. Now just drain away and after you repeat this one more time you get your trophy.

Story related, can’t be missed. Beating the final boss of the game can be a tricky fight if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’d recommend a horde of 20 browns, 10 reds, 10 greens and 5 blues (10 if using the +5 horde size helm). Put them on a guard marker and simply run around the Devourer at during the first part of the right, your reds and greens will hit the pustules while your browns will take care of any zombies than come at you, the blues keeping your minions standing though you shouldn't have too many die on you. You'll also need to sweep the blues around every so often if too much blue goop starts littering the area.

In the second section you have to use the raised platforms to hit the higher pustules, send your 10 reds up there on a guard marker and use the rest of the horde to defend against the zombies. The final section of the fight is the same as the first, except when you destroy the 2/3 pustules that regenerate each turn your then need to destroy the one on the Devourer’s head to make Solarius appear, you can then drain him while again your minions take care of any enemies that appear, these will generally be stronger that the first section with Unicorns and mutated minions attacking, you may want to get your overlord stuck in (especially on the Unicorns). Simply rinse and repeat.

The key to this fight is your control of minions on the marker. It’s just like sweeping them, use to select the marker and to move them (you can move the Overlord as well with at the same time) only you have more control and when in formation they defend much better. Easy enough to finish the fight with your full 45/50 minions if careful.
