You will get this achievement while on your way to the Tyrant of the Tower achievement.
Basically you just upgrade your minions using gold and Dark Crystals.
To get the Master Builder achievement I upgraded all colors to level 2.
This costs 12000 gold and 8 Dark Crystals.
Tip: Exit without saving once you get the achievement to get your stuff back ;)
