How to unlock the Extended Survivor achievement in Overlord - Definitive Guide

This is the easiest of the survivor achievements, if you'll believe it. If you have the challenge pack DLC you can get all four survivor achievements at once with some luck. It took me two tries, the first of which lasted until 40 minutes. So if you fail, try...again.

You can do this with a co-op partner or with two controllers. Considering the majority of this will involve sitting there idling it doesn't really matter.

Load up Silent Hall, and as soon as you are in have one overlord grab all the green minions(and no other minions). There are four corners in the map; find the one with the barrels in it and cram yourself between the barrels and the corner. There's actually plenty of room. Put your green minions on a guard marker and move the marker basically into the corner so they stealth. No large enemies will wander back to this corner. Every five minutes rats will spawn near you and the greens will slaughter them. This is the only thing that could screw things up. If something sees your greens killing the rats it may come and attack you. You can probably survive one attack if you're sitting there, but two will do you in. That's where the luck came in.

My first attempt my greens got spotter at 40 minutes and I was killed. My second attempt I simply idled there for 45 minutes.

Man, for some reason it works for about 12 minutes but then some dwarf minors come and tear me up. Any advice? I'm not quite sure I'm going to the right corner

You'll want to wedge yourself in behind some boxes. If there aren't boxes to stand behind it's the wrong corner.

For me there was a specific corner that seemed to work better than the others (even though each corner has barrels). As soon as I spawned I went to the bottom-left corner and then did the usual with the greens and guard marker etc. In this corner I survived a full 45 minutes while in all other corners I had been killed far more early despite using the same method in those corners too. Luck is still a big part of it though, as your greens can still sometimes be seen attacking the rats no matter what corner you're in.

Why do you even need to take greens if they can get you into trouble? Cant you just camp in the corner on your own?

It's the one where you can stand behind the barrels. If boxes block your way to the corner behind the barrels it's the wrong corner.

No. If you just camp the corner on your own the rats will come and attack you. You won't be able to survive the 45 minutes in the corner fighting off rats alone. The rats will see you, and they will attack you.

Just got the 30 and 45 minute survivor thanks to your kick ass guide. I lost all but 4 minions 25 to 30 minutes in and then one more was killed off by the rats but they seemed to fight better together in fewer numbers. Everybody said it "Heres to luck". You the man!

I wasn't sure of which corner to go because i saw barrels in each corner and not a single box. So anyway, I chose the corner near the green spawning pit. When you start, it is behind you to your left. You can break the barrels as they respawn.

At each 5 minutes, a beast could see my greens killing the rats so I was always losing some. And at 25 minutes, I had only 1 remaining and he stayed with me until the end while I was killing the rats myself (with both overlords). Surprisingly, not a single monster could see me killing the rats, even thought they were really close.

I also want to add that if you try it by yourself with 2 controllers, be fast as it takes few seconds and the second overlord is attacked by a bettle.
Overall, great guide, worked on the first try.

Worked like a charm on the first try. I agree with Tanelorn82 that the corner on the green spawn pit works. Just break the barrels, stay in the corner and the barrels will respawn.

Not sure if I got lucky or what but I hid in the corner closest to the green minion well, and stuck both overlords behind the barrels. I put the greens out but they were too far away and got spotted and killed after the first set of rats spawning. However none of the bigger enemies come into the area where the barrels are. Every time the rats spawned I just killed them with my overlord.

Credit to Tatakai no Kami for working this out

This will take a bit of practice but works a treat. Rocky race again in the dlc and go for all time achievements.

At the start, there is a bridge to the right, both players grab greens quickly and position them in line with the little rock tower (your side of the bridge and to the right) and make sure you cover right across as this makes it look like it has disappeared to the rock giant. If too close to the other side, they will attack the giant and/or fire beetles. You know you haven't done it right when the giant crashes through!!!!!

This saves going any where and having to worry about any creatures spawning around you which seems to happen with the other bridge.

Wait 45 minutes and the achievement is yours!

It's worth pointing out you can get this by only downloading the free split screen pack - you don't need to pay for the Challenge pack.

This Trick still works- but you only need place the greens of one player in the near of the pillar on the way- the other player places his greens ( or nothing) in front of the greens hub.
But thanx- tooks abouts 5 trys but only cause i grabed a red one 3 times

This worked like an absolute charm. Don't have to buy the DLC and it still works. Awesome.

The placement of the greens is important. Make sure you place them right next to the pillar across the path. I had a hard time visualizing that at first.

Cheers!

Amazing!
Here is a slight re-wording to try to make it a little clearer. ... Ahead of you, downhill and to the right, there is a bridge. You need to use a marker to position all of the greens on the bridge. If you do it quickly enough, they will become invisible before the troll sees them. If they do, the troll won't cross the bridge, ever! It's a little tricky to get them into the right spot. It will take several attempts. But it does work perfectly if you get it all correct.

this method works as long as there is only 1 gamertag in the room on split-screen. every time I tried it online or split-screen with 2 gamertags a bunch of golems would spawn out of seemingly nowhere
