How to unlock the Antipode achievement in Overwatch 2 - Definitive Guide

UPDATE: To get this achievement now, you must (as the description states) hit 7 targets simultaneously. Although the achievement originally unlocked by just hitting 7 target during your Coalescence, it appears this has been patched. The possibility for this being corrected was mentioned in the original video solution (about 0:57). It's definitely still doable, but now will require better timing. Make a point to use your ult in hallways and stairwells during team pushes. If anyone has specific maps or spots they recommend, please share in a comment below. Thanks everyone!

Original solution: The description for this achievement is actually a bit misleading. It appears you don't actually need 7 targets lined up perfectly in your Coalescence, but simply to hit 7 unique/individual targets while using your Coalescence. This makes the achievement a lot easier than it seems and you should be able to unlock it through natural gameplay.

Some tips: 1) allies might need to be damaged (not full health) in order for your ultimate to heal them and count towards the 7 targets you need; 2) Moira is vulnerable while ulting, so flank and use the high ground; 3) hit everyone you can while ulting; 4) if you're struggling, try King's Row because it has narrow streets which should make it easier.

I've been getting comments on the YouTube video itself which seem to corroborate that it does indeed need to be 7 simultaneously now. It's not completely impossible, but it definitely makes this a much harder achievement to get.

Yep, I can confirm they don't all need to be in a straight line. I just waited for a big fight to break out, stepped back a bit, and then just sprayed back and forth across the battlefield. Got the achievement without even really trying for it :)

Mr Andy Dixon, thanks for confirming that! It definitely makes the achievement way easier to get :)

I think they patched the option of hit 7 heroes separated (not at once) or I get extremely unlucky in this achievement. In a ranked match I hit 5 enemies at once (in Zarya ult) then i heal 3 teammates and hit another enemy at the end. The achievement didn't unlock.

Feel the same way. Very glad I unlocked this pre-patch and definitely feel bad for anyone late to the party...

Should update the line, "allies might need to be damaged".
It's not might, they definitely need to be healed in order for them to count. Fuck this achievement.

It's as lame as Doomfists Cratered achievement. Essentially impossible, nobody is stupid enough to fall for either of them

Moldy, good point. Updated.

Sneaky and Moldy - yeah... I don't envy you guys trying to get this now. Especially since she's been out for a while and a lot of people are keen to avoid her ult or know how to counter. All I can say is good luck.

Most teammates even avoid your own beam without realising it heals them in my experience

Get the 7 targets by yourself is a drag.

However, you'll have better chance to get it in Ranked match, due to the fact your team and your foes will be stuck together more than usual in Quick match.

And Zarya is of course kinda a must-have, in your team OR even the ennemy team ; You can stay behind your team and try while the ennemy's ulti, though of course it will recquire a better timing as your team will be team shooted quickly and you'll need to stay back enough to not be dragged in too.

So continue trying and you'll be rewarded ; I did :)

Good thing updating the guide as I know players who had no idea that a patch had changed the requirements significantly. Was lucky that I did Moria's achievements within the first week before the change, though feel bad for anyone who has to do it now the much more frustrating way. :/

Overwatch 2 Solution
What does Coalescence do?
Coalescence is bound to Moira's Ability 3 which is cn_Y by default.
Coalescence shoots a beam that can both heal allies in the beam or damage enemies in it. It extends 30 meters in a straight line and cannot go through walls, but can go through barriers. It heals/damages 140 health/70 damage per second and will passively self heal you for 50 health per second.

Note: This is a channeled ultimate which means that it can be shutdown by abilities such as Roadhog's Chain Hook and Ana Sleep Dart.

How do I unlock Antipode?
You must hit 6 targets at the same time. Since it can hit both allies and enemies, any combination of targets work.
Zarya's Graviton Surge is the best way to go about getting this achievement as it groups up either your allies or your enemies. Additionally, choke points or small rooms can lead to a 6 person Coalescence, but will be very hard to do.

Boosting Methods
The Group Method
  1. Get a group of 5 people.
  2. Enter a game as a team and have 2 people choose Moira and Zarya. The other people can be whatever they want, but a suggestion from me is a Mercy or Ana to help with the healing and maybe a Sombra to use EMP to stop people from blocking LOS to the Graviton Surge (if the enemy team has a counter).
  3. Build up Moira's and Zarya's ultimates.
  4. When Zarya gets a successful Graviton Surge with 2 or more enemies, have Moira use Coalescence on the Graviton and have the team stand in the beam* (2 enemies + 4 allies = 6 targets).
The Lockdown Method
This is the most common method to boost Overwatch that requires 10 people.
  1. Get a group of 10 people.
  2. Get into two groups of 5
  3. Disable cross play
  4. Queue for Quick Play Open Queue at the same time and hope it matches you guys up
  5. Once you match up, have 6 people line up and let Moira use Coalescence*.
Remember to keep the objective contested unless it's a Control map which will not need contesting unless someone captured it.

*I suggest Moira to not move her beam and instead allow everyone else to walk into it.

I just got the achievement myself and I didn't have my team lined up for it. I don't know if the description should state it more clearly that Moira should hit 7 players during one Coalescence (heal low health allies and damage enemies). It doesn't mean they all should be in the beam during the same second.

Do note Moira is quite vulnerable, other ults will easily kill her.

just got it but not sure if it glitched or i was hitting people not on screen.

Anyway, i was in the final courtyard on hollywood and it popped after i hit 2 enemies and 1 friendly. but i also hit a lot of destructible fence that seem to have registerd as targets. so if someone is able to check this out it would be great :)

This is Moira's ultimate. All you need to do is hit 7 people, this includes teammates and enemies. The easiest way to get this is when everyone is contesting a point or payload. Wait for everyone to group up and just spam and hit everyone in your sight.

Keep in mind that your teammates will need to have damage for the hit to count. If your teammates are full health, it will not count as a hit.

Below is a video on how I got this achievement:

Clip of me getting it:

https://www.twitch.tv/speardrops/clip/FantasticAdventurousAp...

My best tips for this 2023 onwards (new updates means this is harder than the previous iteration of the achievement) are:

- Role queue.
- Escort mode.
- Maps with narrow corridors.
- To built up Moira's ult (Coalescence), exhaust your healing and your orb then spam damage.
- Sit back, get on mic and tell your team to get in front of your beam. There are a lot of new players with Overwatch 2 so they won't realise it's a friendly, healing beam otherwise.
- Wait till you have a thick and juicy tank on your team like Reinhardt, Roadhog etc. who isn't likely to use movement abilities.
- When they are around 1/4 or 1/3 health, use your ult through them and aim towards the group of enemies near the cart. Call a push. Beam through them all and use your big tank lad as a safe spot for the beam when you can't find a target during the ult.
- I'd recommend watching the clip I got for an example of a good line and situation for it.

Good luck.

To complete the trophy you need | Hit 7 targets with one use of Coalescence.

01. There is no need to try to hit 7 targets with your ult at the same time.
02. In order for your teammate to be counted, he must be low in HP.
03. Not only opponents and teammates can be considered targets, but also, for example, Mei’s wall, Orisa’s barrier, etc.

Tip #01 | See Mei's wall, ultimate, it counts as 5 targets if you hit it correctly.
Mei's wall consists of 5 vertical blocks, you need to hit them all, so you still have 2 more targets to hit.

Tip #02 | You see Zarya’s screed full of opponents, ult.
Hit everyone in the screed, and then look for teammates who have lost HP.

Not necessarily all 7 at the same time with one beam. You can manage to hit 7 people one at a time, but what’s important is that your full teammates don’t seem to count; they need to be oiled up a little.

Apparently this trophy has been changed; now it doesn’t fall if you just hit 7 targets during the ult. Now you need to hit 7 targets simultaneously with just one beam.

You can also shoot at the wall of an allied Mei, this also counts
