Overwatch 2

Note: This guide is out of date as Overwatch 2 has changed the requirements. As I have not played Overwatch 2, I can't really speak on the new requirements. I'd suggest checking the other guides.

During gameplay, there are 5 stats that can award medals
- Eliminations
- Damage Done
- Objective Kills
- Healing Done
- Objective Time

You are awarded medals based off of your respective place on the team. While this comes with time, you could make some easier. Obviously healing done is going to be way easier as a healer, and you're bound to get a medal if you play as one. Heck, you play anything with healing and you'll probably get a healer medal (Soldier, Reaper).
The same generally holds true for objective time. While it is an objective based game, plenty of people are going to be more focused on kills than the objective. Playing a sneaky class who can take certain shortcuts can easily give you plenty of objective time, or playing as a Tank class just to hold out as long as you can.

Note: I've never gotten a medal for deaths, so I'm not entirely sure you can. It's in the same section in the other stats but I have yet to see a death medal.
Edit: In regards to deaths, apparently there used to be medals in early betas, but people were confused whether it was for most deaths or least deaths, so they just took it out.

What are challenges?

Challenges are quests that you can complete for Battle Pass XP. All challenges are found under the challenges page which you can access by pressing .

Daily

There are 6 daily challenges however, despite having the name "daily", they only last for 20 hours. This timer starts when you load into the game and your previous daily quests have expired. Since these are daily, they are relatively simple and generic such as completing games and dealing damage.

Weekly

There are 6 weekly challenges given every week at roughly 3PM ET on Tuesdays. These are a bit more challenging but still fairly generic. They are always the same 6 challenges. If you do not complete a challenge, but have made progress, that progress will carry over to the next set of weekly challenges.

Season

There are plenty of seasonal challenges, as they're suppose to last the whole season, and here is where we see many map and hero-specific achievements.

Event

This is only active during an event. These challenges are based on the event as well as some generic 'Play Matches' challenges.

Lifetime

These challenges are separated into subcategories

• New Player
• Player Title
• Hero Mastery
• Gauntlet
• All 4 PvE Missions

Hero

If you haven't unlocked a hero, there will be challenges here to unlock said hero. There is also icon quests that will grant you an icon based on a hero for winning up to 15 different games with said hero.

How do I unlock Decorated?

The easiest way would be to log in everyday and do the easiest daily challenges. Doing all 6 everyday would only take 9 days (with 4 extra challenges).
Doing 6 challenges everyday and the weekly challenges will shave off two days (with 3 extra challenges).
