How to unlock the Supersonic achievement in Overwatch 2 - Definitive Guide
Sound Barrier is Lúcio's ultimate ability that gives your team a major health buff in an area of effect around you, and to block 1000 damage in only one use is going to require a bit of luck. What you're going to want to do is stick near your team at all times, and only activate your ultimate on major team fights when you're surrounded by your teammates, and the enemy team is attacking.
I got this when I was with my team, and the enemy Hanzo used his ultimate, Spirit Dragons. As the dragons were coming towards us I activated Sound Barrier, and it ate up the shields I gave them and the achievement popped immediately.
While I got this against a Hanzo ultimate, Sound Barrier can (and should) be used to counter many character's ultimates, like Reaper, D.va, Bastion, Pharah, and really any character with a high damage ultimate.

As a point of reference this one took me forever. Lucio play time near 4 hours before I was able to unlock. Got it on Ilios, the first objective - in a small room which helps. Were only a few enemies (plenty of teammates) around but time was running out so I used it just to avoid wasting. Got lucky and a Pharah used her ultimate right outside, shooting into the room. Tried a few times with Junkrat's ultimate but maybe the explosion radius for that is too small. Maybe that helps someone - another data point to reference.

I unlocked this in Hollywood in Hybrid mode, though the mode and map isn’t really the important part with this Achievement. Lucio’s Sound Barrier is uses an area of effect to heal you and your teammates, so you’ll need to identify an opportunity to use it affectively.
When you have an enemy about to use a super — D.Va’s exploding mech or Hanzo’s big, twisting dragons are damaging and are telegraphed — and when you have your teammates around you, hit Y to unleash Sound Barrier. It’ll soak up the damage from the enemy super and hopefully keep you all alive.
The Achievement will unlock when you’ve successfully absorbed 1,000 points of damage. Killing yourself, as I did, isn’t necessary. Oops.
Voila! Here’s how it all looks, keeping in mind we made the video using XboxDVR.com, so the Achievement doesn’t actually pop on-screen.

Use your ultimate when the number of people near you exceeds 2, and when the enemy uses an ultimate ability that deals damage. I got the trophy when the enemy Zarya threw a black hole at 4 allies. Under a hail of bombs and bullets, my team collected 1500 damage for me.
