How to unlock the The Floor Is Lava achievement in Overwatch 2 - Definitive Guide

Wall riding and shooting doesn't work too well on a controller, so here's how I got this without tormenting myself with that.

You want to play on maps that have the potential for environmental kills, meaning you can knock people off the roof/cliff/whatever to their deaths. The round in Lijiang Tower where the capture point is surrounded by fall zones is the map I got it on, and might be the best choice here, but this could work elsewhere.

The goal is to use Lúcio's Soundwave ability to push an enemy off the map to their death, and immediately after you push them, jump on any wall and hold 'A' to wall ride. You don't have to be wall riding while you shoot them, but you have to be wall riding when the enemy reaches that 'kill point' in their fall. It usually takes a second or two for the enemy to die after being pushed off, so you should have enough time to get a wall ride going.

So, I would wait with my team in the capture point on Lijiang Tower for enemies to come down the narrow side entrance, then I would peek through the door and Soundwave an enemy off the roof, and immediately jump on a wall to wall ride.

You'll have to do this three times in one life for the achievement to unlock (or less if you knock off multiple enemies at once). So it's still not really an easy achievement, but this is how I was able to get it done. Good luck!

Hello friend, I tried to add a sollution but since I play on PS4, I'm not able to do so.... can you add this information to your post so it will help other friends?

I tried to achieve this by doing what most people do, push the other players out and then jump to the wall, but since you need to wait for maps like Ilios and Lijiang, I was having a really bad time.

So, I asked a friend to play Mei and we fight together the whole fight, waiting for an alone enemy. When we find one, Mei start to freeze the enemy whille Lucio damage to almost kill him, by the time Mei complete the freeze proccess, the enemy will be almost down, so Lucio just need to wallride and finish him.

It worked for me the first time I tried this method. I hope it helps other friends here.

PS: Sorry for the tipos, English is not my first language.

I did it legit on junkertown. Here few tips that can be useful if you want to do it legit. Basically, you could do this on any map, just be sure to try this on a payload/robot map. If you try do this on a map with control zones, keep in mind that the counter resets at the end of every round, even if you didn't die. So, here is my strategy: use the speed boost to reach faster any advantage spot you like. Be careful to stay behind your team, you don't want to focus the attention of the enemy team on you. Then, switch to healing and keep it active, possibly helping your teammates. Focus first of all on surviving, then attack the most squishy enemies. The headshot of your pistol can deal enough damage to kill them fast. Also on the tank can work, if it's busy with your teammates. Basically, you want to steal kills by last hitting any enemy you see. Of course you have to do this while riding on the wall. Remember that you don't have to be on the wall the whole time, you just need to be running on the wall the moment you get the kill, then you can jump on the ground or run away to survive. Keep your ultimate to save yourself or to help your team to advance. You want the game to last as much as possible, cause you will need time to get the 3 kills. Maps having spots in which you can push the enemies off the edge can help, but it's not necessary, most of the kills i did while trying this achievement were normal kills. Final suggestion: avoid role queue, cause 2 healers on the enemy team will easily save the enemies you are trying to kill. Prefer open queue, even if there are commonly 2-3 tanks on the enemy team, rarely you will see more than 1 healer, and that makes everything much simpler.

To make this more manageable, you can customize Lucio's control scheme specifically in the menu.

e.g. (LB) becomes jump, and (A) switches between speed/heals. This at least frees up your aiming thumb while holding jump.

You absolutely could do that, but my solution was all about avoiding that hassle. Push 'em off, and jump on a wall. No problem.

Personally, I found left stick to be a good jump button. Then you don't have to change any other buttons.

Thanks for this, didn't even think about doing this but it worked great. Got it on Ilios just playing how I normally would but wall riding after an environmental kill.

Got it on Volskaya on Defense by catching flankers or people chasing me to the cliffside.

Very frustrating achievement. Either people catch on and don't come near where I need them anymore or the wall ride dosen't 'cling' on long enough or properly to register (which has lost me out on it when I have actually shot off three people, argh).

Its annoying too that you need it on specific maps as apart from Zenyetta's ones I've done all the other characters so hate having to wait to get the right maps only to fail. :(

Thanks! This is really helpful. I find it a little unnecessary that it should all be done within one life... I guess not EVERY achievement can be easy...

This achievement is by far easiest in Control. I was actually able to get it fairly easily playing on Nepal. If you are targeting this achievement specifically, I would suggest leaving any game that isn't Control.

This achievement needs so much luck it's unreal. But you can boop someone while your standing, as long as you're wall riding WHILE they die then it counts. It takes this achievement from an absolute fucking cancer to, pretty fucking shitty. Good luck.

JordanTheBigBoy is right, you want to get enviroment kills then jump on the nearest wall asap.

However, I found it easier to do this on Watchpoint: Gibraltar, than Lijiang tower. You're more likely to die on King of the hill maps in my experience.
On Gibraltar you can do it at the cliffside near the beginning, or at the end.

Here's a video of how I got it.

All of the solutions above work but getting the map, Lucio and enemies where you need them is frustrating and comes down to alot of luck. But if you change Lucio's jump to LB and switch to A button, you now have a much easier time wall riding and shooting. Also with the Year of the Rooster update you can enable backwards wall ride. This opens up many more opportunities to get this achievement. I ended up getting this with 1 environmental and 2 actual wall ride kills. Hope this helps anyone still struggling to do this without boosting.

Both of these solutions are correct, I recently got mine and the way I got it was a little bit different to these. While these 'knock the enemy of the map' ways are the easiest, I team up with a zarya. She put her graviton surge near the well on Ilios and I went behind and when it wore of I soundwaved them into the well and sprinted to the nearest wall. It is harder and rarer for this to happen so use the other methods.

There is nothing wrong with these solutions, and they are correct in saying that "booping" an enemy is the easiest way. (knocking them off) I happened to get mine purely by chance as it was not the main goal of what I was going for as playing as him but I thought I would give it a shot.

The map that I found easiest is Eichenwalde defense. Right as they spawn they have 2 choices for heading to the point, down the main alley that is usually guarded by what would be your teammates; the second being they can swing an immediate right and head toward a building with a health back right across from the bridge or stay along the edge of the map. If they go along the edge it is one of the narrowest spots that I have found between the buildings and the actual edge of the map. The best place for this is on the side of the stairs there is a large wall to ride as well as something to hide behind so the enemies won't see you when they round the corner. If I can figure out a way to post the video of when I got it to this I will to show you where I am talking about.

I did alter the controller layout for Lucio. I switched his jump/ wall ride to cn_LT, his "Amp it up" to cn_A and his Sound wave to cn_RB. This made it much easier as both options to shoot are right there and you have a bit bigger button to hold while riding so your finger doesn't slip off on accident.

Sorry, this Game Clip has been removed

I know It might look like I was camping in the building but I had just gotten in there when the clip started so I didn't have to wait for long. Also Since this was recorded with the Xbox DVR it won't show the achievement unlocking but I assure you it did.

I can't give a 100% fool-proof guide, since Overwatch's achievements are largely reliant on other players being in the right place at the right time, but I can share how I unlocked the achievement (roughly 30 minutes ago at the time of posting).

For starters, I have jump/wallride bound to cn_LT on Lúcio, and his boop/knockback bound to cn_A. You can change settings for individual characters by going to Options > Controls. Above the sensitivity settings, there's a small bar in the corner that is set to "ALL HEROES" by default. Hit cn_A, and a drop-down list of every character in the game will appear. Scroll to Lúcio, and hit cn_A one more time.

What you'll want to change is Jump, which is in the Movement section, as well as Secondary Fire, in the Weapons & Abilities section.

Your changes will be:

Jump > cn_LT, and
Secondary Fire > cn_A.

These aren't required to unlock the achievement, but it makes playing Lúcio a LOT easier, and a bit more fun. It may take some getting used to at first, though.

So, as for getting the actual achievement; I found it easy to get playing on Nepal Sanctum (The one with the Omnic monk statues all around, you could get it on Nepal Shrine/Village as well, or even on Ilios like most people try to, but if you play the objective on Nepal Sanctum, it should be easy.

What the achievement description doesn't tell you is that

A.) You don't need to get all 3 kills in one move, and

B.) You can use your primary fire.

When I got it, it was a combo of boops and shooting spread out across a span of about 5 minutes. If you just jump around on the wall next to the point, a bit above the doorways, you can get some good headshots off.

Just don't stop actively going for the achievement until you see it pop. Once you know what to do, it isn't incredibly difficult. Mostly just luck.

I advise you to change the jump button to L2

You are guaranteed to do it in point holding mode, because... there is a lot of scope for accidents, and the rest are just luck.

To wall slide, hold the jump button , and to get 3 kills, try to throw three enemies into the abyss while you are sliding along the wall.

The jump button can and should be reassigned, in my opinion the best choice is .
This will allow you to jump and aim at the same time.

We just took advantage of a bug. You invite a friend to the group, your friend should be preparing to leave the group. You press the search for a quick match, and when the match itself is located, and not the warm-up, the friend should immediately leave the group. And perhaps your friend will end up on the enemy team. We earned so many trophies .

In my opinion, the trophy is not the toughest in this game. I would say a solid average. To simplify your task as much as possible, you need to do the following.
1. For convenience, change Lucio's jump to L2.
2. Play a little to get used to the controls.
3. Wait for the map Lijian Tower , the level where the main building is in the center, and it is separated by bridges on each side.
4. Take Lucio and run to the center point. Inside the building, you will need to jump to the very top of the wall, since the building has window openings and otherwise you will simply fall through them.
5. This is where the most interesting thing is, if you hold down L2 (jump) and the left analogue responsible for moving left or right, then Lucio will begin to slide in a circle. And without falling and without gradually going down. You will just wind in circles.
6. As soon as you start sliding along the wall, you can calmly look around in any direction with your right analogue (you can look anywhere, up and down or left and right, you won’t fall) and shoot as usual through R2 .

But there is a big nuance. Your team should have an advantage at the point. Because you understand, when they hold the central point with the whole team, no one will allow you to circle there, they will shoot you down in an instant. And so, when you have an advantage, although they will see you hitting them and spinning around, they will still be distracted by those running on the ground.

One non-obvious clarification. You don't have to be on the wall the whole time you're attempting to kill or being pushed into the abyss. You need to be on it exactly at the moment of the enemy's death. That is, for example, we walk next to an abyss, push the enemy there and immediately jump onto the wall so that the moment of his death (red skull on the screen) finds us there.

Changed jump to , I made the achievement in literally an hour and a half. I don’t advise you to wait for free transfers outside the Map; I spent about 3 hours on this and without results. If you still want to try to fold, change the controls on different maps. He constantly slid along the wall and tried to hit his opponents. Here is the video https://youtu.be/_Bfqw9d2HVI
