How to unlock the NEW GAME+ achievement in OVERWHELM - Definitive Guide

After finishing the game for the first time there's a new option to start New Game+. It is different from the normal game in terms of the map being completely mirrored, as well as the game forcing you to get the crystals in a specific order. You'll get the achievement after beating New Game+.

Would be nice to know what order the bosses are instead of running around aimlessly this game is already confusing enough

Not sure if it's just me, but after completing the game normally and beginning New Game+ I had to stop playing so I closed the game. Once I restarted the game, New Game+ was no longer an option, it appears that I'll have to complete the game again to be able to start another New Game+, this might all need to be done in one sitting.

You would need to save and quit and not simply closing the game

There's a map in-game you can use, also if I remember correctly the bosses are random what order they become available

I also had all of my progress reset upon restarting the game. I definitely made sure to save before quitting. I strongly recommend completing this game in one uninterrupted session!

Make sure to check the New Game+ box in the main menu after. It's a horrible font and hard to read but the option is there.

For people who want to keep track of which order the doors open, on the large doors which block off the areas, there are symbols which show how many crystals are collected and how many are still needed for the specific door.

I was getting very frustrated after beating the 5th boss on NG+ (Kraken), as the black abyss that starts stalking kept on appearing over the only exit, so I literally could not progress back to the core.

I basically had to keep on dying and trying again, as each time it spawned slightly differently. Eventually it was to the side just enough that I could squeeze through and out.

So my top tip? Don't give up if the abyss blocks you too, as you might be able to brute force your way through with checkpoints. Also, all the difficulty options were ON in my playthrough and the cheevo still popped.

Once you've completed the game for the first time, you'll have the option to start a new game, but this time there is a checkbox called "New Game+". Make sure to check this before starting your new game.

You'll know you are in New Game+ because it'll block off all the other boss areas and require you to fight bosses in a particular order. NG+ is a little bit more challenging as the entire map is mirrored so where you would normally find the Kraken in the bottom right, will now be in the bottom left, and so on for the rest of the bosses (except the worm which is always bottom mid). I believe there are more mobs (I remember seeing these aggressive jellyfish that swim towards you), but overall its about the same.

Once you defeat a boss, you'll gain access to go fight the next boss so feel free to reference these boss guides. It may be disorientating because you are used to it not being mirrored, but you'll adapt pretty quickly since it's still the same strategies to defeat every boss in the game.
