How to unlock the ADVENTURE 4 achievement in PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION 2 - Definitive Guide

Not really a guide but more of a heads up on how to unlock this area

You must complete all levels on Pro difficulty to reach this area as well as getting maximum stars on the boss fights.

Area 6-15 requires 222 stars to unlock which means you have to earn ALL stars in ALL areas leading up to it including the boss fights
Levels 1 through 5 have 10 areas each that you can earn 3 stars on and one boss battle that you can earn 6 stars in for a total of 180 stars
Level 6 has 14 areas that you can earn 3 stars on each totalling 42

This sucks. Just awful. The fact that guides are non existet makes this even worse.

Luckily, there are a few tricks that makes this .2% easier.

Theses tips are for Area 6, but you may be able to implement them in other Areas.

1) Pynnokyr's STRATEGY MAY NOT WORK FOR MOST OF THE LEVELS!!!

His strategy might work, but it is not very reliable and my next tips make are actually easier.

2) EAT ALL OF THE DOTS!!!/NEVER DIE!!!

Eating dots stats a dot chain. Unfortunately, the chain maxes out at 500 dots. What this means is that you get 500 points per dot you eat. The ONLY way the chain can be broken is if you complete a board with dots still on it or if you die. Once you complete a board, any remaining dots is subtracted from your dot chain. If you die, the dot chain goes to zero. Its ok if you forget a dot or two, but for every 2 dots you miss, that's 1,000 points. Just go through the boards using the path the game guides you though. There are expectations though, sometimes its better to just wake up the sleeping ghosts first if it saves time BUT ONLY if you can capture the missed dots easily while eating the ghosts. Keep in mind that exception will only be used once or twice a level.

Dots can be disregarded if you know you are on the last possible board you can reach. Eating all of the dots per board will only allow you enough time to reach a certain board. This is what I mean by the last board. You should have about 35 seconds left. Just grab the sleeping ghosts and eat them.

3)PAUSE THE GAME WHILE EATING GHOSTS

I'm not sure how well known this is, but it is very helpful. Once you eat the power pellet, pause the game and look to see where you can cut a ghost off. You may have to know where the lines are at as well as pay attention to where the ghosts are at BEFORE pausing. There will be a large menu in the center, and the screen will be blurry. Why is this useful then? It is useful to give you a second to think. It is not possible to be completely aware of the four ghosts locations at the same time. It's hard to really explain why this works, but it does. You will find so many more opportunities and save so much time. Keep in mind, the ghosts are fucking cheaters! They will not follow the paths one hundred percent of the time. It seems to happen most when they run into each other.

Keep in mind, there will be variations to the strategy. Its good to keep track of our score you have at what time to judge weather you are on track or not. Again, the score per time changes from level to level, but just try to save some time by restarting if you are not on track.

You basically need an s rank. Have you done that yet in time attack?

I just blew through 1-5 just got to 6 oh man what a 180 Namco pulled on us! Basically having to get an s rank with no post game scoring (bombs lives etc) this is gonna be a pain!

I just got this achievement. You have to be drinking gin and juice to win. The juice is key.

Holy hell, was this ever hard. At least I finished it.

Pynnokyr's tips above are really good. I would just add that once the power pellets start moving, make sure to eat all of the dots in the level before eating al the ghosts, that way the fruit appears as soon as you eat the last ghost train.

@ ham salad on those boards my strategy wasn't to focus on the dots until after 3 ghost trains. I would try to eat the ghosts and the pellets at the same time. Assuming I was successful that would save me a solid 5-10 seconds on those boards. Whatever dots were left over while going for the fourth train I would just eat. Also if there was one or two pellets I missed after the fourth ghost train I just left them alone and took the hit on the multiplier. You get more points from the ghosts anyways which made it not worth the effort in my opinion.

Oh yeah...try not to die near the end of a run in the score attacks in Area 6. The drop in points per dot can actually make you miss your target score, and it is very frustrating when that happens.

Only 4 left for me on Adventure. 6-4, 6-6, 6-11, 6-13. All really hard. It seems like I consistently get 4.8M no matter what strategy I try ...

Well ... 6-4 finally complete. Three left. For 6-4, for the first two boards, the minute the fruit was available I would bomb jump to it. Then for everything else I would try to eat all the dots. Also, the minute the power pellet shows up, bomb jump to it to get things started. Better to get lucky and eat some ghosts while you're trying to mop up the rest of the dots than spend extra time eating all the dots before taking on the ghosts.

@dan sabia i do believe my strategy is reliable. I'm also not saying your strategy is unreliable. Proof it is reliable is I got the achievement using my strategy perfectly fine. That said if your strategy works and helps people then I'm happy someone else was able to ADD to the list of comments. To try to add a little more to my strategy in case I wasn't clear enough here goes. The purpose of foregoing the dots for the first several boards is to get to the first ghost train that much faster. Ghost trains are worth significantly more than any dot ever. That said if you save even 10 seconds on the first few boards by skipping every dot your giving yourself a chance at one more completely brand new board later helping you score more points for that S rank. An entire board is worth more points than say 20 total dots over the first few boards. If you feel those 20 or so dots are significant and it works then awesome. I just chose to go with the math approach not the perfectionist route.

I think they went a little overboard with the achievements in this game. Just cleared s rank on extreme, hopefully it's doesn't get much worse than that.

For some of the 5 mil in a time limit, it may be best to only eat the pellets during the stages that you consume all 4 trains. It was the only way I was able to get enough points. Any other time I tried it resulted in falling short of 5 mil

Almost done with this game, will be a nice completion to add but good gravy this was a pain. I dont mind hard, I have issues with requiring sheer luck/sacrificing first born/etc just to win a level

Finally got this. 6-4 was definitely the hardest for me, but it got slightly easier after that. Here are two strategies that helped me get through Area 6.

1) Eat all the pac-dots up to the first power pellet. After that point, bomb jump to the fruit as soon as it appears so that you can get to the power pellet mazes sooner. But make sure to always eat all the pac-dots on the power pellet mazes so that you can keep your 500 point multiplier up.

2) Don't be reckless. It may sound obvious, but doing your best to not piss off the ghosts so that they can kill you goes a long way. Avoid contact with them as much as possible so you don't have to worry about dying.

Other than that, it's just a matter of catching the ghost trains as quickly as possible when they're vulnerable.

I'm up to 6-10 so I'm in the home stretch. Some were a real pain in the ass for sure.

I've tried a lot of different things but what has worked best for me is to just follow the intended path to eat every dot on every level. This allows you to keep your dot score at 500 (dying is a run killer) and also always stirs up all the green sleeping ghosts.

Yes, it slows you down in terms of level stage progress, but since you're maximizing score along the way, you end up playing fewer levels, resulting in at least one or two fewer train chase levels. I found these to be the most random and problematic parts of each run with the most potential for time loss. By maximizing on stages without much variation by simply following the dot path (bombing to the fruit of you don't end up close), you don't have to chase as many trains in the end.

Both strats are obviously viable but I found the intended dot paths to completion more consistent.

@Pynnokyr: I have all achievements unlocked except 6-15. I have no problem to S rank in score attack, but time is always running out with just just 100,000 - 200,000 to go in area 6.

There's a forum post called so...those s ranks... I went into detail on how to do it but a tldr version there's no perfect way for me to tell you exactly how to do it but a good basic guide would be don't die and unless it will only take an extra second or two do not focus on eating all of the dots on the fruit boards. From there on the power pellet boards definitely eat every dot and stir up every ghost. You have to eat the ghost trains asap anything more than 10-15 seconds on the ghost trains is too long. As for a guideline on points my goal was to be at .5 million by 5 minutes 1 by 4 minutes 2 by 3 etc. If I can be of more assistance let me know I hope this helps

1. DISREGARD EVERYTHING Dan Sabia SAYS!!! HE KILLED MY FATHER!!!

What you need to do is cover your Xbox with peanut butter. The chunkier the better. This will slow the ghost down and allow you to get a higher score much faster. Also if you eat a real apple before the round starts you get an extra 75000 point bonus right off the bat.

2. COUCH POSTITION!!!
Are you sitting on the right side of the couch. That's why the pellet moves so much during the later rounds. You should be on the left side of the couch. Sounds like a whole lotta hoopla for where you are sitting, right? WRONG!!! Game won't even start if you are sitting dab in the middle.

3.UNPAUSE THE GAME
I've tried playing the game paused and it just doesn't work. Nothing seems to move. I found that while the game is not paused a lot more action and movement is then open up to you. Wasted almost 100 hours trying this out.

Also Pynnokyr is a liar

Here's a clip of me doing 6-4. It's a choke run, I miss the mark by 5000, but my successful attempt took the same exact path.

playing

Here's the general principle:
-The first track, eat to completion, then eat the fruit.
-Then, immediately bomb to the fruit as soon as it appears. I was a little slow with the bombing on some of the tracks in the clip. I don't know why this is, I think I may have been a little fatigued. You want to bomb as soon as the fruit appears.
-However, if the track is a power-pellet track, make sure to activate all the minion ghosts before eating the power-pellet. Then, obviously, eat the ghosts as fast as possible. Try to clear all the pac-dots while clearing the ghosts.

An additional tip is to use your bombs liberally. On 6-4 you will end up with a ton of extra bombs. My successful attempt had at least 6 or 7 leftover bombs, and I was using them all over the place. For example, if there's one ghost left and they're in the upper left of the track and you're at the bottom right, bomb yourself closer.

Other than that, refer to the video if you need reference. If you follow the video, you should be able to get it with a bit of practice and luck.

Allow me to explain my strategy as a top 50 scorer. Most of area 6 is a time attack based on the mazes from Championship mode in Multi-Train mode. The best thing to do is to practice. The better you get at these mazes, the better you'll perform in the time attack. Remember, to take on the boss, you'll need to beat the pro-level time on ALL the stages. Here are my tips for getting those Pro times:
1. 500 is the big priority. The first thing you should do is clear mazes of all dots until you reach 500. Maintaining 401-500 is key to doing well. This also means you don't want to die as the loss in score and time will decimate your attempt.
2. Get the largest ghost trains possible. Keep an eye on where ghosts you wake go, if they turn into eyes and leap off, the trains are full and it's time to go for the kill. Remember that ghost trains generally follow the rails shown on screen, so use those as a guide. By making the largest possible ghost trains, you maximize the points you earn from ghosts.
3. Try to clear mazes with power pellets. This is a huge time saver. Remember that when you get a gobblefest, you will return to just above the fruit. By clearing out the pac-dots while prepping and eating ghosts, you can guarantee the fruit will appear when you do a gobblefest. This is especially useful once your mazes are in the double digits and you have to clear all the pac-dots to make the fruit appear anyway.

Keep trying! I know it's hard, but the feeling of triumph you'll get when you unlock and beat the final boss will be well worth it.

Video of the passage of zones 6-1, 6-2, 6-4, 6-5, 6-6, 6-8, 6-9, 6-11, 6-12, and 6-13. They clearly show where you should eat all the Pac-Dots, and where you can neglect it. And in general, a clear example of how to act in order to accumulate 5,000,000 points.
