How to unlock the Guru of the Islands achievement in Palworld - Definitive Guide
Just wanted to let everyone know that this achievement is indeed retroactive along with the "Collect 1000 Pals" achievement. I can't speak for any of the others at this time. Installed the game, loaded up my save that had them all collected and pop went the achievement. If for some reason it doesn't, I wouldn't waste an entire play-through to get it. They are adding additional Lifmunk effigies with every island as long as it stays consistent like this one. Just get them forty or so an update.
If you have't started collecting them, or need to finish, I used this map: https://mapgenie.io/palworld
Good luck out there!

In order to make this achievement much easier to locate the Effigies, I would highly recommend adjusting your in-world settings when selecting your save, and select the option labelled, ‘Custom Settings’.
Change the following:
Day Time Speed - 5
Night Time Speed - 0.1
Pal Stamina Reduction Rate - 0.1
(Make sure to select ‘OK’ in order to apply these settings)
Any other settings you wish to tweak are completely optional. These settings will essentially allow you to roam around the map without the need to constantly land your pal to recover lost stamina. You will almost always be roaming around at night which is a huge help for locating these collectibles as they glow up (Green) like a sore thumb making this a really simple task. You may find that you may not even need the need for an interactive map as there are more than enough around and are so easily to spot.
Note: It would appear that the Effigies are retroactive and can possibly be accumulated over multiple worlds (Needs confirmation as I only collected 232 on my main file and probably accumulated the rest on a couple other worlds belonging to friends).
If you haven’t already, I would advise combining this with the following achievement:
I personally used this interactive map:

You can refine your search to display the Notes (Journal Entries) ONLY and can be located exactly the same way as above, however these glow BLUE, but are perhaps maybe not so obvious from a distance, but will definitely become easier to spot the closer you get to one.
