How to unlock the Pandemic God achievement in Pandemic: The Board Game - Definitive Guide

Put the game on very easy (tab on the right of main menu).

Play with 2 team members only. Choosing research first and scientist second. Doing this allows you to finish a disease basically on the first turn and just keep ending turns in which you can’t move cards for finishing diseases. Don’t bother treating city’s as it will just make this take longer then necessary.

You should win about 80-90% of match’s the odd match will be unwinable so just quit and restart if the nodes get a mass chain reaction of outbreaks.

All up 100 wins took me roughly 12-15 hours.

I must have played 20 games and I still don't understand how you finish a disease on the first turn. Can you explain it to me please?

First rotation of the 2 characters. Ie researcher getting say 2 red cards and scientist getting 2 red cards and then the scientist finishing red on her first rotation. So one full turn of the board.

What a grind, holy shit.

It's a little misleading to say that setup lets you cure diseases on the first turn though, that happened in probably only half of my games. Within the first 2 turns, sure, pretty much 99% of the games let me cure a disease.

I immediately quit out of any games that:
1) started off with adjacent cities having 3 cubes
2) gave me starting hands with 3 or more event cards
3) dealt me cards that just left me with 3 of each color but never 4
4) triggered an epidemic within the first 2 turns

Some of those games were probably winnable, but when this strategy goes your way, you can complete a game within 3 minutes. And I do mean 3 minutes, I timed it. So when you can polish off a game in 3 minutes, why bother with the extra hassle.

If you just hit restart with same team after the win, it doesn't negate the previous win correct?

12-15 hours? Felt twice that long, ugh. facepalm
I'd recommend tackling it 5 or 10 wins at a time, and keeping a tally so you know your progress.

I'm not even at 40 (I count 32 could be slightly higher) and it feels like I've done 100+ jesus christ, it's beyond obvious to leave this until it's your last achievement and have your scientist as your last character while doing everything else (eradicate all 4, 5 man team, last turn etc) that way you can cure on your last go if everything goes sideways.
this way you don't waste your time on a run.

also if this wasn't obvious the 4 training missions don't count. since this game got traction lately someone will think that.

Just a little tip to save some time, mash the A button at the start up of every game to skip the board setup. Needs about 11 taps.
Currently at 76 wins and I have this down to no more than 5 minutes per game by "fast forwarding" the intro and the Infect Cities at the end of every turn.
Now, just wish you could skip though the outbreak animations.

Better tip, just play it on your computer and mash through the board setup (and everything you can mash through) using AutoHotKey. I made a small script (only usable if you play fullscreen and in 1920x1080 resolution). By pressing 'q' you will keep mashing your LMB on a spot you cannot do anything wrong. By pressing 'w' you pass your turn and you click the green checkmark to discard any leftover turns you had :)

Just to add, so far it seems anyway, that Virulent Dtrain plays may not count as one for this.

I was at 37 or 38 wins.
Just did 3 Virulents. Didn’t get anything unlock for reaching 40.

You’ve gotta do the 10 anyway, but it would be nice If they counted to the 100

Did everyone else have such wonderful luck as me trying to get this achievement?
So far I'm at 201 wins and still nothing. I started tracking them on a sheet of paper as soon as I got the 40 win achievement, so I've picked up more than 150 extra since that achievement...

Update: up to 276 wins now and still no achievement...

Update 2: after 276 wins and it still not unlocking, I deleted my save from Xbox Live and the local saves off both my Xbox Ones.
After starting "from scratch" it took exactly 100 wins, with a total of 376 wins.
So if you end up getting screwed like me and it doesn't unlock after 105 wins, do yourself a favor and save yourself hours and hours of frustration by deleting BOTH you local save and Xbox Live save.

If I had known that, it would have saved me almost 200 games played...

Ouch XJCreek87! Unlocked for me right on my 100th win! Some of those would have been with Virulent Strain too.

This works so well that it makes the game too easy. There's almost no reason to move the pieces off Atlanta. Forcing us to have a 3rd figure would be harder because it makes us wait to cure.

But I don't mind easy.

Started counting off in groups of 5 after 40 and my heart stopped when I reached 100 with no pop. Looking closer at my batches, I thought I might have missed one and thankfully it the next game did it - whew!
