How to unlock the Too Much Time on Your Hands achievement in Pandemic: The Board Game - Definitive Guide

Team wise pick just researcher and scientist anymore then that and your just wasting time.

Pick researcher first so you can instantly finish 1 disease (note if you can’t finish 1 disease on the first turn or you get a bad starting hand ie event cards restart)

Basically the strategy is to not move and keep ending your turn while moving any necessary cards to the scientist. Don’t bother treating nodes unless your close and you need the cubes but I never bothered doing them in my 100 matches at all.

All up matches that are winnable should take roughly 10 minutes my best time was 4 minutes or with 36 cards remaining.

You might not win 100% of the time I had a few games where I needed say 1 red card and went through a good 15 hands and never got one but after a game or two you should have it.

This stacks with the 12 card and 18 card wins also.

Are you certain this stacks with the 12 & 18 card wins?

I'd already unlocked the 12 card win, before obtaining this achivement; but the 18 card win did not unlock with this one.

Yes 100% it stacked for me and also I’ve seen it unlock for others. I manually counted wins as well for this game and everything unlocked perfectly on time so it shouldn’t be buggy. If your having an issue maybe try it again. Unless Xbox has it finished but not unlocking.

It looks like the 18 card win is glitched for me!

I've won with more than 18 cards; 3 more times since unlocking this achivement, but it still fails to unlock. I can only hope it's one of those achievements that suddenly unlocks after a delay?

This is a solid strategy but I'd say you're being too harsh by saying to restart if you can't cure a disease on the first turn. On the way to 100 games, I was only able to cure a disease on the first turn maybe half of the time, but I finished almost all games with more than 24 cards left.

Yeah it definitely stacks, but it's one of those games where the stacking can be a bit unreliable. Either check your achievements or wait it out, or try again. In my case, they both popped at the same time, but only the 24 showed on screen. The 18 "ghost popped".

I found the following game setup to make this simpler:
Game Mode: Solo
Characters: (3) Researcher, Scientist, Medic (Choose in this order)
Difficulty: Easy (2 Epidemics)

You can ignore the cubes almost entirely and focus on transferring cards between characters. Utilize the Researcher to give cards to other players and the Scientist to do most of the curing. On the first turn, if you selected the Researcher first, you can give your cards away to the other characters to work towards sets of 4/5.

**This does stack with "Still Got Some Time" and "Still Got Plenty of Time" **
