If you're going to 100% this game then all you need to know for this achievement and others is to get to the footbath and unlock the meditate ability. Then it's just a matter of running around the island chasing down all those hearts.
My final Shinji was on top the pyramid which I had encountered early in the game and then forgotten about. It is also helpful to visit this pyramid for lore and as part of your investigation if you are playing for the story.
On the piers down by Doom Jazz's yacht there is a jet ski to take you to the only inhabited and accessible pyramid. Despite it's steep appearance you can scale the outside of this pyramid and find Shinji hanging out at the top.
As best I can tell there are 50 Shinjis to locate.
