How to unlock the Guardian of Ancestral Heritage achievement in Patapon Remastered - Definitive Guide
Story-related, cannot be missed.
Unlocked after the 22nd story mission, "Awakening at Gaeen". To unlock it, you will first need to enter the hunting mission "Search for a Lucky Star" when it's not raining. To increase the chance of this happening, you need to "sacrifice" one of your Patapons in this level: select a basic Tatepon or Yaripon, place it in the front row, equip it with the most basic equipment possible and let the Parcheek in this level kill it (before retrieving its cap of course). Then, keep joining and retiring from any mission to refresh the weather of that stage. When the rain has stopped, enter this hunting mission to find that a Picheek has spawn (it looks like a regular Parcheek at first but turns into some sort of toucan when struck). Kill it to free Hoshipon. You will need to listen to his speech all the way to the end of the level for him to drop the Black Star, so make sure you don't advance too fast and beat the drum every once in a while when he asks if you're listening to him (you will be able to collect a lot of ka-ching in the process). This will grant you access to the "Awakening at Gaeen" mission in which you will have to face this new boss.
Dogaeen is basically a stronger version of Gaeen. It has the same attacks but they do more damage, so use the retreat chant wisely. You will also unlock the charge chant in this mission which can be seen as a variation defense chant: your Patapons will guard while charging, and their next attack will be stronger.
