How to unlock the Anas platyrhynchos achievement in Pato Box - Definitive Guide
The achievement requires you to score an S-rank in all of the available fights in Arcade Mode including "boss Rush" (where you fight every boss in a row).
The rank you receive is purely time-based so don't worry too much about being hit, however, in order to score an S-rank you will need to more or less counter every single punch possible. Every boss has their own patterns and attacks which you will get to know by playing. The most important thing is to notice when they're open for counters (when they attack and upon missing, due to block/dodge, stay in the position for just a second allowing you to stun them and land 3-4 punches).
For me countering was the main strategy against most bosses, except for Ms. Brauch, for her you need to have an aggressive approach but still counter.
For Pizzicanatra just make sure to put the good food in the soup by punching the body with the arm holding the ingredient and the bad (rats and socks) to his face by hitting upwards - either will eventually trigger an opportunity to land punches. Besides that, he is also open after his direct vertical attack with the spoon.
Dark Pato is the hardest boss, he is only hittable when his eye blinks, which it does after certain punches. Again, learn the patterns by playing and use my important tip below and you'll get it eventually!
Whenever you beat a boss in arcade mode it will tell your time and the time needed for a better rank.
Important tip: When you pause the timer pauses as well. That means you can spam the pause button to help you react and counter the bosses attacks. This will also help you tremendously in the "Beat *boss* without getting hit". It will still be difficult and you must learn the patterns of the bosses but it is very doable. Also, holding the pad before resuming will make Pato react instantly and help you block/avoid punches.
Last tip is the longevity of moving to the sides can be controlled, you can stay a bit longer by keeping the D-pad/stick to the side or move back faster by releasing the D-pad/stick.
Regarding boss-rush, I saved this for last and it is actually one of the easier to S-rank, I mostly scored rank A against the bosses and still got the S-rank at the end. I died twice (used 2x duck-lifes) meaning the time towards the rank is only collected per boss win and the time spent losing a fight wont count.
Best of luck!
