How to unlock the SSSSlide achievement in Peggle 2 - Definitive Guide
TRIAL 1, Coldbricker: Aim for the second red rectangle from the top on the upper-left hand set. Hit A, and win.
TRIAL 2, Frostbit: Hit A.
TRIAL 3, Nice Ice, Baby: Aim for a green peg and have your shot carom off of it into the first red peg in the series. If you mess up, don’t worry – just restart. After you do it, your next shot will still have Deep Freeze. That’s going to mess everything up, so just shoot the ball into the cup / bottom of the screen without hitting any pegs. This will lose the ability and give you proper bounce for your next shot. Aim for the other green peg, just like you did the first time. Voila!
TRIAL 4, Kool Katch: A “Cool Catch” style shot is when a peg travels into the cup. Don’t adjust the aiming reticule. Wait for the cup to pass through the middle of the screen, then hit A. The middle peg will go into the cup. (It doesn’t matter what happens to the ball.)
TRIAL 5, Orange Ice: I used Gnorman. I like his Uber Volt power-up when trying to get rid of tons of orange pegs. There’s nothing particularly difficult about this trial; there’s just more orange pegs than normal. Play like you normally do, and use Gnorman’s Uber Volt to clear a bunch of pegs at once. If you’re a Peggle Pro (TM), you’re not going to let a few extra orange pegs stand between you and greatness… are you?!
TRIAL 6, Deep Freeze: The bumpers are your friends. On my first shot, I got 322,700 points because it just knocked everything around. An awesome first shot will set you up with plenty of space to aim, and plenty of balls to work with. I thought this level would be tricky; I was able to clear it with 5 balls left on my first try. It’s much easier than it looks, as long as you have a good first shot. If you don’t, just restart and try again!
TRIAL 7, A Million Snowflakes: THIS LEVEL IS SO MUCH FUN. Wait until there’s a green ball in the middle of the board. Just hit A. WATCH THE POINTS GO UP. SUCCESS. I got something like 1.3 million. All I want to do is play this level over and over again.
TRIAL 8, Low it Down: Choose Bjorn. His ability won’t give you any more points (unless you’re masochistic), and it will help guide you to pegs that would otherwise be difficult to hit. ALWAYS AIM AWAY FROM PURPLE PEGS. They'll run your score up quickly. 175,000 points gives you a good deal of leeway, so you don't need to be perfect here. Try to knock out as many red pegs as possible without getting a green one. Once you reach a point where you're struggling to hit more reds, pick up a green and use Bjorn's ability to bounce shots to hit the red pegs you miss. Before you hit the last red peg, waste all your other balls! Either re-direct them off blue pegs to go quickly, or shoot into nothingness and lose coin flips until they're all gone. I wound up with like 101,000 points before the final cup bonus, so I had plenty of room to spare. This one's kind of weird, but not tough. Good luck.
TRIAL 9, Buncha Orange: I used Gnorman again. I like his Uber Volt power-up when trying to get rid of tons of orange pegs. There’s nothing particularly difficult about this trial; there’s just more orange pegs than normal, and there’s more orange pegs than in Trial 5. Play like you normally do, and use Gnorman’s Uber Volt to clear a bunch of pegs at once. I tried to use his power-up sooner, rather than later, just because there’s a higher chance of having it pinball around and get rid of a ton of pegs at once. There doesn’t seem to be a particular pattern to follow to pass this level. Just try what feels right.
TRIAL 10, Cave O’ Dreams: Again, I used Gnorman. (He's my favorite, and I think he's the best at trying to get rid of a lot of pegs of any color.) Getting his Uber Volt power-up early will help you set the tone for the rest of the trial. If you’re able to get 3 (or more) purple bricks in a single shot, your points will skyrocket. I didn’t think I was setting a good pace, and then my third shot got me over 400,000 points. The points add up quickly here, and I didn't even need to get an end-game bonus to hit 750,000. There's some luck to getting green pegs at the right times, but good players using Gnorman should have no issue.
TRIAL 2, Frostbit: Hit A.
TRIAL 3, Nice Ice, Baby: Aim for a green peg and have your shot carom off of it into the first red peg in the series. If you mess up, don’t worry – just restart. This is for completing all 10 trials from the third area named Winter Blunderland. Here is the list of trials, with a video walkthrough by PS4Trophies Wozamil:
- Trial 1: Complete the level in one shot using Berg's super where the pegs slide into one another. For this you just have to fire the ball at the top left or right at the second peg down, so that it lights up the 2 either side and bounces back and forth to hit them all.
- Trial 2: Self-explanatory, just hit the pegs directly and they will slide into one another.
- Trial 3: You want to try and hit the green peg, and then bounce it back onto the curve of orange pegs. If this is done right it should cascade, and give you a second ball that you can then fire straight at the second bunch of orange pegs to get that entire line.
- Trial 4: This is easy, you just have to hit the peg just in front of the bucket so it slides into the bucket to get a cool catch style shot.
- Trial 5: This is another clear 40 pegs challenge, which we used Jeff to reach the bottom oranges easier.
- Trial 6: Clear all the pegs, but with deep freeze active. This is fairly easy but just try and make sure to slide the ball at the start, and to use the bumpers at the side of the level to keep the ball up.
- Trial 7: Score over 1 million points, all you need to do for this is try and hit the middle of the circles so that it cascades round both circles at once.
- Trial 8: Score less than 175,000, for this just refer to the tips for trial 9 from Peggle Institute.
- Trial 9: For this trial we advise using Berg so that you can easily spread out the pegs, which are in clumps.
- Trial 10: For this it's best to use a character where it's easy to get big combo, and area peg attacks because you want to try and hit as many purples in a chains as possible. Try and clear the entire board because if you do then it means in Extreme Fever mode, that all the buckets will be 100,000.
