How to unlock the Good Graces achievement in Pentiment - Definitive Guide

I just got this and it’s a little difficult. Some tips:

-do not attend the autopsy as you are banned from the grounds for that day
-follow lucky and do the investigation for him
-talk to the widow and do her chores and see her eviction notice, DO NOT pick the law background that shows her eviction is illegal or you’ll be locked out of the achievement
-you need to convince the abbot to dig up the grave, not anyone else. This requires saying nice things and agreeing with him in previous interactions, and also investigating the prior and confronting him about his black magic dealings
-choose to lie to the abbot about how you’ve been following his orders (this is a positive)
-on the day of the trial you’ll know you made it if the abbot doesn’t show up to banish you. He only shows up to say he is displeased with you and you’re not welcome anymore

In the second act you’ll be at the abbey guest house! Nice! Hope it was worth sucking up to that despicable abbot lol

I got the achievement, but both attended the autopsy and was unable to convince the abbot to dig up the grave. So I'm not clear what the actual trigger(s) are here.

You can examine the body as long as no one knows it beside Florian. I hide from The Doctor.

I was able to get the achievement without talking to the widow, but I did follow the rest of your tips (including implicating Lucky).

i think you are definietly forbidden to have genrot learn that you were at the autopsy. in one playthrough i accused ferenc, but told him i was at the autopsy -> abbots disgrace (seems ferenc told the abbot to save himself). i reloaded the interrogation with the archdeacon and accused matilda, but said no word about ferenc -> abbots grace. i also did not talk to lorenz at dinner and exhumed the grave with gernots approval.

I tried to follow these tips and then I simply ran out of things to do and I still haven't reached judgment day. I think my gameplay was terminated, I don't know why.

Perhaps worth noting that it doesn't actually pop until after you've finished the scene in the Town Commons with the execution. It popped for me as Act II started, with you talking to Brother Piero as you're about to leave the Abbey.

I replayed the execution scene 3-4 times thinking I'd messed it up as it didn't pop, and not wanting to get to the next save point. You actually don't need to worry about that though - you can access your most recent few saves for each of the three save slots via the New Game menu.

Logical that it shouldn't pop until the start of Act II, I suppose, given that it requires you to finish Act I.....

The end of the first act is in favor of the abbot. To unlock this achievement, you must be polite to Gerno at all times, not talk to the Baron at dinner, not be seen at the autopsy, or dig up a grave without the permission of the abbots - in general, interfering very little in the affairs of the abbey.
