How to unlock the 1000 Rounds Survived achievement in Perfect Dark Zero - Definitive Guide

What I did was pretty much the method listed for surviving 10 and 100 rounds, but I think I found a good specific setup.

Set up an Eradication match of 10 rounds on the Facility map with 7 bots. Make 6 of the bots Dark bots and put them on your team. Set the one remaining bot to Agent and put it on the opposing team.

Every match, the Agent bot will spawn in the corner underneath the bathroom, so just rush through the double doors in the rear hallway and he should be right in front of you. You can kill the bot yourself if you want, but usually the dark bots get him before you do. Therefore, I just sat there and let the dark bots do the work. Sometimes it takes them a little while to get him, but they will always get the job done, and from my experience, it never takes them more than a minute to do so. Each time the agent bot is killed, it's counted as one round survived.

EDIT* OFFICER ZERO posted a comment with their setup, which appears to be a little more consistent than mine. Try using Old Town, 14 dark bots on your team, 1 agent bot as an enemy, bases 1+3 open. I've tested it, and there have been a few times where it took about a minute to get the agent bot killed, but more often than not, he'll be dead before you leave the armory screen.

Even with this setting, this achievement will take a while to get. I think it took me about 7-8 hours total. If you have a better solution, by all means, post it.

The basic idea is the same, but I used Old Town with bases 1 and 3 open, putting 14 Dark bots on my team and 1 agent bot on the enemy team. I swear the little guy never lasted more than 30 seconds...

Thanks for the input, and I think your setup is better than mine. I'll add it to the original solution.

You dont have to have the bases open to have 16 people, ill get back to you on this but there is a way which i used to use maps with 16 people with no bases open.

Just to add, on Old Town the one opposing CPU always seems to run down the left hand side usuaully makes it to the parked vehicle and is then shot.

you could always do 1 v 1 with two controllers. Just make sure they are on opposite teams. And then have the one that doesn't need the achievement quit..and Boom! you've got 1 in the win column. Just do this 1000 times and your set. takes about 10 secs each time.

It goes by faster to do just do all Dark Agent. I found that it took the Dark bots longer to find the Agent bot than it did to find another Dark bot.

I did Tower, Small, 15 bot count, 15000 Cr. Had all but 1 bot on my team. All bots were set to Dark Agent. My bots were on Feud type, and enemy bot was Bully (Idk why, but that seemed to work). First thing I did was buy the Rocket Launcher. I shot the guided missle to the left around the outside path. I got 4 or 5 kills each match. Each kill taking 6-8 seconds (depending on where I spawned at). If the enemy wasn't there, I shot to the right and sometimes he was over there. Typically, the other bots on my team would have the enemy killed before my 2nd shot blew up.

This seems to be the best method, the other team loses in a few seconds most of the time, while the Old Town method can sometimes take over a minute.

I kind of came across your same method no adjustments other than default 5000 credits. Dark Bots kill the lil agent in 30 seconds to 5 seconds the ten round at two minutes is done in an average of five minutes. I’m standing in one spot watching the clock. Up vote!

I used a mix of all the other methods to get this achievement and "Played 1000 DarkOps Games" at the same time.

Perfect Dark ZeroPlayed 1000 DarkOps GamesThe Played 1000 DarkOps Games achievement in Perfect Dark Zero worth 179 pointsMultiplayer Award. Played in 1000 DarkOps Games.

This will take approx 17 hours for both achievements, but you do not have to be watching the TV screen to do it. Considering the quickest you can do this achievement is 7 - 8 hours and around 10 hours for the other, this has got to be worth considering.

Scenario: Eradication
Level: Old Town
Level Variant: Base 1 & 3 Open
Bot Count: 15
Round Limit: 1

Set it up so you have 14 Dark Agent bots on your team and a single Agent bot on the other team. After that you just have to press "B" and then "START" on your controller every minute or so. The bots on your team will do all the work and you will then be returned to the lobby, "B" and "START" sets you off again.

I actually did this over two and a half days while watching TV.

Great solution - I'm doing this now (though wether I manage to see it through for 17 hours or so remains to be seen!)

Two things to add, though. Not sure how much it'll matter but in the bots menu I changed their Personality to 'Feud' - this makes the bots pursue the enemy more fervently. You can set the enemy bot back to 'Vanilla' in the players screen.

Secondly, don't forget to have the game installed! Obvious, but most of the time consumed by this method /is/ loadscreen time. Shorten those loads!

Both of these tips only occurred to me about an hour into the grind. They shortened my average game time from 60-70 seconds down to only 40-50 seconds. That potential ten/twenty second gain gets massive when you multiply it by a thousand...

(I actually just did the math. I couldn't help it. Using the middle estimate of 15 seconds, you'd save 15,000 seconds. That's 250 minutes. An extra 4.16 hours shaved off your grind!)

The other method is better if you have reading material etc. to take way the boredom but the fastest method is if you have two controllers. Make sure rocket launchers are enabled, friendly fire is on and maximum (15000CR) are on correctly in the options. Using the second controller at the start of every round blow your second account up by suicide with the rocket launcher.

This way takes roughly 3 minutes including loading but is rather repetitive and boring.

So if you need any of the weapon achievements it might be a good idea to put it on facility, small map (Fixed bases) and buy the weapon corresponding to the kill type and killing your second profile. 1000 rounds will be achieved alongside the weapon achievement this way.

Fastest way with the easiest set-up:

Use two (preferably wired) controllers. Set your match up like this:

Darks Ops - Eradication
Map: Any (doesn't matter)
Bots: 0
Starting credits 15,000
Rounds: 10 (round length and match length don't matter)

Start the match.

Have the secondary profile purchase grenades the first round. As soon as the timer hits GO, throw down a grenade and stand on it, committing suicide. Your primary profile wins the round and survives.

For the next nine rounds, have the secondary profile purchase the Snapdragon or FAC-16 assault rifle. Point the rifle straight down at your feet. As soon as the timer hits GO, hit the secondary fire button (RB) to explode a grenade at your feet and kill yourself. Your primary profile wins the round and survives.

This method will take you approximately 10 seconds per round. Using the grenades to kill the second controller causes the game to credit you with enough money to purchase the assault rifle every round for the next nine rounds.

Another method I found that works quite well is thusly:

Set map to Facility: Small (Part of the 2nd dlc pack which is free), with all bots except for one to your team. Set the one bot not on your team to agent level and the others to Dark Agent. Set the starting amount of money to 15,000 Credits.

You want to make sure your team is spawning in the corner of the map where the hallway to the left of your spawn point leads to a set of double doors. Around 8/10 times the other CPU will be on the other side, so you can either kill it yourself or have the bots tear it down in seconds.

************************ 2017 UPDATE **********************

I've optimized Jaggexedge's solution so you only need to press buttons on a single controller, although two are still required.

This solution will get you efficiently through the achievements associated with DarkOps games played (10/100/1000) and Eradication rounds survived (also 10/100/1000).

Log in a second profile on controller two and start up a DarkOps Eradication match with zero bots and a 1 round limit.

Once the game loads, using your primary controller, quit the match and immediately rejoin by pressing start. Then follow the on screen prompts to restart the match and repeat this process. You'll only need to quit/rejoin with your primary controller and each cycle will count as a round survived and a match played.

Controller 2 will only be used if it dies, which will require you to use it to back all the way up to the main menu where you can make the primary controller the active profile again (active profile controls the menus).

I tested this process on a dummy account and unlocked the 10 matches and 10 rounds survived, then I used the process on my main account to get the 1k matches and rounds survived, so I can confirm that it works. It was easier to slog through this process (generally playing Hearthstone on my phone) when only having to worry about inputs with one controller.

Each cycle took me about 23 seconds, so the entire process will take about 6.5 hours.

Survive 1000 rounds of DarkOps: Eradication. The quickest way to get this achievement, is to set up a match with the following settings:

DarkOps
Mode: Eradication
Map: Old Town
Weapons: Disallow all but Jackals
Starting Amount: 15,000CR
Bots: 15 (14 Dark Agents on your side, 1 on the other)
Points Limit: None
Round Limit:10

Stay in your spawn. Your teammates will take care of the opponent. Every round that you remain alive, is a round survived. Using this method, it will take 8 hours to survive 1000 rounds. It can be a mix of online and offline.

*You must complete the match for your achievement progress to register.
