How to unlock the Played 1000 Deathmatch Games achievement in Perfect Dark Zero - Definitive Guide

-Create a Team Kill Count
Level: Old Town
Size: Small
Weapons: Custom: All Jackels
Points Limit: 5

-Now everything else should be good, what you want to do before you start the game tho is make sure the game is filled with bots.

-Next Set all the bots on your team to Dark Agent

-Next Set all the bots on the opposing team to Secret Agent, Agent is too stupid that they will take forever to get in enemy range of fire.

-Now the final outcome should look like 16 people: You plus 15 bots, even teams.

-Start the game and it should end in 30 seconds max, now all you do is sit back and start the games.

***Edit***
As an edit to the technique, put 6 bots on the enemy team, put the rest on yours.

Put random spawning on.

Game ends in about 10-15 seconds

Thanks to Daft Incarnate for the edit

This is a great solution. I never had to move. Just load the game, wait for your bots to get 5 kills then exit and restart.

Obviously I know what you mean just fine, but if you're interested in fixing your typing error, it's actually "secret agent" not "special agent".

Using this method, I was able to average about 100 games every 75 minutes. That's 12.5 hours to complete 1,000 games.
Don't forget to count any Deathmatch games you've already completed whilst completing other achievements. I completed all other Deathmatch achievements before this one. As a result, I estimated a 20-minute time savings which turned out to be almost spot-on.
A side note: I was using a turbo controller to auto-press "A." This exited and started each game automatically, but I still had to manually press "B" to cancel out of the statistics screen at the end of each game. It might have shaved a few minutes off the total time; I used it to simply reduce my button presses per game down to one.

The Walkthrough says to do it on Urban. This solution says to do it on Old Town. I don't really notice a time difference between the two. Does anyone else?

I'm estimating this takes a little over 8 hours (I'm averaging 10 games in about 4 minutes, 50 seconds). I'm using the setup in the solution, except I gave everyone RCP-90s. I tried different balances of bots, but didn't see too much difference in terms of time saved (7 bots on my team, 8 on the other is what I'm currently using). Random spawning shaves off a lot of time. Finally, using Feud personality for your teammates and Vanilla for the other team seems to help too.

It's very rare for the match to last longer than ten seconds. I've seen the match end in 3-4 seconds several times.

To reiterate, I believe this to be the best setup yet. I'm making far better time than anyone has mentioned in any of the solutions. If anyone has any improvements, please let the community know!

@Octobot Super; please make your own solution for this so I can upvote it. I can confirm that your suggestions are by far the fastest method available.

Since I have nothing but time on my hands while I'm grinding this, I gathered the times on each method (with a sample size of 30 matches). Your suggestion clocked in at an average of 23 seconds per game (including load times). It was the only method that managed a run below 20 seconds and was also the only method that never went over 25 seconds.

My exact settings:
Old Town.
7 v 8 bots.
Dark Agent, Feud on my team.
Secret Agent, Vanilla on the enemy.
RCP-90 weapon start.

Given human-error, this method will take around 6.5 hours to go from 0 to 1000 games. Significantly faster than the next highest 8 hour bid.

I am playing this on Rare Replay and this and the 1000 Darkops achievements are proving to be a pain. I have been on holiday so have been doing long stretches going for these 2 achievements.By my reckoning I should have unlocked both of these a long time ago. I am trying to do each one in one session and keep a tally because if this doesn't work for me I think I will buy the game on my 360 and try it that way! Anyone else having problems?

Something I'm finding helpful while going for this: I've connecting a little speaker to my 3.5mm Xbox one controller while I'm watching stuff or playing other games so I can hear what's going on in the match and I know when to just hit 'B' then 'Start' to begin another match. smile

Anyone working on this in 2022 or beyond like I am, this is on cloud gaming now. I bought a program named reWASD (had to buy the advanced mapping and combo premium packages - free version won't do) a while back that comes in handy for a lot of things, and it has enabled me to automate this process. I use the described game setup, then run a macro that presses the start button, waits 45 seconds, hits B, waits 2 seconds, then repeats.

Hoping it will work for the Dark Ops and Eradication 1000 achievements too. Definitely works like a charm for this one though.

Edit: It did indeed work for the Dark Ops and Eradication achievements. Needed to increase the wait interval between start and B to 65 seconds since Eradication rounds take longer, but beyond that, it worked just as well.

Great idea from thanatos, but it doesn't need paid software. There's a Chrome extension to use keyboard and mouse on Xbox Cloud Gaming https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/keyboard-mouse-for...

Using that and a macro recorder (I'm using TinyTask) I've been able to set up something similar.

Start a Team Killcount Game, balanced teams, your bots are Dark Agents, enemy bots are Agents. Choose small map and weapons such as Superdragon, then start a game. Time limit: none, point limit: 10. It will take about 5 seconds to win the match. You must simply press Start at the end of match and then B and Start to start another game.

Easy as can be, but takes lot of time.

This works perfectly although I set the Point Limit at 5 as it makes the rounds even quicker.

I timed this today. From the start of one match to the start of the next match, taking all timers/loading screens into consideration, it takes 50 seconds per match. Assuming you are starting at 0 matches, this is 50,000 seconds, or just under 14 hours if you were to do it all in one sitting. This was done on the small Subway map.

I would certainly suggest saving these types of achievements until last, because you'll pick up some matches along the way boosting the other achievements.

One additional note. If you install the game to your hard drive and play it from there, each match takes only 40 seconds, cutting down your total time by 20%. So, instead of 14 hours, you're looking at just over 11 hours total.

i'd usually agree with thanatos' statement about posting solutions without the achievement, hence without the knowledge on how to do it. However, i think this one is valid, since this achievement is repeating the same thing 1000 times. I'm sure by the time you've done anything 100 or 200 times, you already know pretty much everything there is to know. Then from raven's profile we know he's got the achievement for 100...

@ravenravenPL: just wanted to say there is a way to see your progress towards this achievement that I found. The only thing is it only tracks what you've played on xbox live not in local

But when in the lobby press a on your name and go to "pregame stats". If you scroll over to "Game" you will see your "Deathmatch Games played" and your "DarkOps Games Played"

By request, I'm posting the settings I'm using since they seem to result in the fastest matches compared to others' results in the solutions and their respective comments.

My rough calculations put this method at somewhere under 8 hours for all 1,000 matches, which is faster than any other mentioned time. I'll try to gather some actual data on my last 450 matches to get a more accurate estimate of the time required.

Yin, the gamer who encouraged me to write this solution, estimates 6.5 hours for 1,000 matches.

These times could vary depending on various factors such as the system that's being used to run the game or whether the game is installed.

Settings
Scenario: Team Killcount
Level: Old Town
Level Variant: Small
Weapons: Custom
- All RCP-90s
Point Limit: 5
Bot Count: 15
Time Limit: Doesn't matter
Points Limit: 5
Advanced Options:
- Spawn Type: Randomspawn

Then press cn_start to "create" the match, and use the following bot settings:

8 vs 8 (7 on your team)

For the bots on your team, use
Skill: Dark Agent
Type: Feud

And the for the rest,
Skill: Secret Agent
Type: Vanilla

Then return to your gamertag and press cn_start again to begin the match. After the initial setup, you won't have to do any additional menu work as long as you don't turn the game off. You just have to hit cn_start after the match ends, and then cn_B and cn_start to start a new match.

With these setting the matches typically end in anywhere from 2-10 seconds, with most of the matches around 5 seconds or so. It's extremely rare for the match to last longer than 10 seconds.

Just to add; I sampled all of the solutions posted for this achievement, and this one clocked in as the fastest by far. The average time per game was 23 seconds, with the upper bound being just under 25 seconds. It was also the only method to complete a game in under 20 seconds.

So, as long as you are paying attention and pressing the buttons as they appear, you can finish this in about 6 hours change. This solution is fantastic, I insist that you at least try this method to and measure the difference for yourself.

I am having issues with this achievement and the 1000 Darkops Games achievement. I have done way more than a 1000 on both and done all the other multiplayer achievements so I know I have done loads of these matches already but still nothing!
I am playing via Rare Replay. I have been putting in a lot of hours as i am on holiday, and am forced to rest a damaged Achilles tendon so I know I should have both these achievements by now.Any ideas, help or tips?

Excellent solution. On Xbox Series X the matches load so fast it generally takes maybe 10-15 seconds from starting the match to the end screen. Sometimes under 10 seconds. Grinding this out for Rare Replay at the moment, my last MP achievement for the game.

Start a Team Kill Count
Level: Old Town or Desert
Size: Small
Weapons: Custom: All Pistols
Bot Count: 15
Balance Teams
Bots: Dark Agent
Bots Personality: Feud
Time Limit: 3
Points Limit: 5

Once you have those options press start and change it to Player+8 Dark bots on one team and 7 on the other. Make sure all of the enemy bots are the Vanilla Personality.

Start your match and then 5-10 seconds later press Start, B, and Start again
Lastly you don't need to but it helps - Download the disc to the hard drive to speed up load times between matches.

Personally I liked the map Desert more than Oldtown and haven't played around with any other small maps.

I chose Feud because for me it was cutting down on my times by 20 seconds making each round last on average 7-11 seconds excluding load times.

I feel it doesn't matter if you have them all on Secret Agent or Agent as long as the enemy bots are one or the other. It seemed to matter more if the Dark bots were Feud or not.

The choice of weapons is honestly up to you but the Dark Agents just about headshot anything and they are quicker this way running across the map with Pistols in hand. The bots also seemed to put away their guns when running for their targets so they know what to do. Other good choices would be SMG's Assault Rifles, or the Jackals as they do more damage for quicker kills but they walk slower.

Please comment if you feel I've missed something or wish to give me a negative vote thus allowing me to correct any problems.
Good luck grinding!

Play 1000 Deathmatch games, either online or against bots. The quickest way to get this achievement, is to set up a match with the following settings:

Deathmatch
Mode: Team Killcount
Map: Old Town
Map Size: Small
Bots: 15 (Dark Agent/10 on your team. Secret Agent/5 on the other team)
Weapons: Custom (All Jackal)
Points: 5

The match will end in 25-35 seconds. Factoring in the load times, it will take 11-12 hours to complete 1000 games. It can be a mix of online and offline.
