How to unlock the A Pair of Wild Cards achievement in Persona 3 Portable - Definitive Guide

Just a quick tip: bad endings count, and you can do new game plus. For the fastest completion, do a 100% run on one protagonist, do a new game plus with the second and select the bad ending on 12/31 to skip the last month of the game.

The majority of social stat points can be gotten from the arcade and coffee shop at night or class/nurse segments that don't take up time. It's very easy to max out all social stats and the 2 or 5 nighttime social links without a thorough guide, provided you get enough money and items from your Tartarus runs to afford all those arcade visits.

Unlike Persona 5 (and maybe Persona 4), starting NG+ with max social stats doesn't really make maxing all the daytime social links any easier. The only real benefit is having max Charm gives out more social link points, but if you pick the best answers each time that only speeds up two daytime links by a day each. Also, for the female protagonist it's easy to miss a Fortune date and stop the social link prematurely if you're not paying attention.

Whether it's on NG or NG+, you pretty much need a guide to max out every social link in a single playthrough.

I'm told that it's possible to max out both your social stats and relationships with all NPCs on your first run, but it's very hard and requires a comprehensive guide to get everything done while juggling all of the personal relationships.

I'd advise spending your first run maxing out social stats so you don't have to worry about them the second time. Then you will have no problem starting any of the social links on round two. You also benefit in New Game+ from the higher starting level and equipment when going for the requests, which you need anyways for 100% of the personas.

Does it have to be done on a new game plus file?

Yup it does. Did it on two separate files and didn't get the achievement.

Persona 3 Portable, unlike Persona 3 FES, actually has two protagonists: male and female. This isn’t just a different skin, the female version actually has a load of different and reworked Social Links compared to the male protagonist too. The male protagonist is more akin to the path you’d take in Persona 3 FES. The story is the same for both protagonists, so don’t worry there.

But yes, as the description says, you need to complete the game twice, with both protagonists, to get this achievement. And yes, you can take the male playthrough (playthrough one) and then jump into New Game Plus as the female protagonist.

GLITCHED- The trophy does not unlock when expected at the moment, though some have got the trophy without knowing how. We'll update the guide with more information when we have it, feel free to relay your experiences in the Trophy Discussion Thread.

The game can be played as either a male or female character. To get the trophy you need to go through the game from start to finish, as both a male and female character. Depending on the choice of gender, the progression of the game will change, there will be other social connections and dialogues.
For newcomers to the series, I advise you to go first as a male character and then as a female character.

Apparently it needs to be done in one save slot. Having passed as one, we begin the game plus for the other. I haven’t checked what will be transferred to a new game when you change the protagonist, but I can say for sure that you won’t get the trophy by starting a completely new game.

All trophies can be obtained in the first playthrough, for the second it is enough to reach December 31st and kill Reji, there will be a bad ending, but enough for the trophy. (You can safely scroll through all the days, through a dream, moving purely according to the plot, the level will be transferred from the first playthrough)
