How to unlock the Path to Salvation achievement in Persona 3 Reload - Definitive Guide

Messiah is a level 90 Judgement Persona who can be unlocked once maxing out the Judgement Social Link. It'll require you to grind a lot in Tartarus. Once the required level, head to the Velvet room and fuse Thanatos and Orpheus.

If you want to cheese it, you can put your difficulty on Peaceful and wait for the Reaper to spawn. You will be able to respawn in battle meaning you won't have to restart from the Lobby of the tartarus, and continue the battle with what health the Reaper has. Once the Reaper is dead you'll get around 600,000 xp. You are able to farm it repeatedly.

So Peaceful difficulty you don't actually "die"?
I got the Reaper right down then he hit a move that wiped my team even though they had high evasion.

Just a warning, the achievement didn’t pop for me when I fussed. Tried doing it again after restarting Xbox and It didn’t work

My experience with the Reaper: by January, I was level 84 and was able to defeat the Reaper in about 15 minutes. Picking the experience bonus card after the fight launched me from level 84 to 91 in one go.

The grind is huge to get from level 85 to 90. I was just getting 400 exp per battle. There is an arcana card that allows you to fuse personas that are 5 to 6 levels above your level as long as you are inside Tartarus. I was at 85 and was able to fuse messiah. Worth trying if you want to reduce the grind

@Mike Langlois it's unmissable towards the end of the game, the link will auto complete when you are heading towards the end boss

It is technically missable if you choose the path to the bad ending - you instead need to choose the path to the good ending then it's an auto complete social link

If you want to & are able to, reach floor (approx) 250( the white floors after the kaleidoscope style floors). Fighting these shadows nets big exp + the tarot card for extra exp.
Anyway, get to level 91.
Then fuse Orpheus & Thanatos.

Messiah is the highest level Persona you can fuse in Persona 3 Reload (as it was in the original). You will unlock the ability to fuse Messiah once you've maxed out the Judgement Social Link (the Nyx Annihilation Team) when you reach the relative top of Tartarus (floor 256). That means, then, that yes, you will need to be on the path to the good ending for this one - which you should do every time, to be fair.

To fuse Messiah, you need to be level 93, and fuse together Thanatos with Orpheus, to create the main character’s ultimate and true Persona, Messiah. While Orpheus is your starting Persona, to fuse Thanatos, you’ll need to fuse the following:

  • Pisaca
  • Pale Rider (Special Fusion)
  • Loa
  • Samuel
  • Mot
  • Alice (Special Fusion)

Fuse all those to create Thanatos, and then fuse it with an Orpheus to get Messiah and the ‘Path to Salvation’ achievement is all yours.

One note in addition to the other solutions - Not only can you spam fight the reaper for levels on a lower difficulty, but you should have access to the Sun arcana by this point if you did the Monad doors, which will allow you to create 5 levels above your current level.

Note - it's level 91 and needs Thanatos and Orpheus to create.

This Persona requires Orpheus and Thanatos, the merger takes place in the Velvet Room.

The merger becomes available only after pumping the Judgment arcana to the maximum. Leveling up is plot-driven as you climb to the top of Tartarus.
