While you make your way through the many, many, many floors of Tartarus, you’ll face off against Shadows galore. There are a few ways to approach Shadows: you can run at them head on; you can have them attack you (giving them the advantage) and you can attack them unsuspectingly from behind (giving you the advantage).

Once you’ve “initiated” 50 Chance Encounters with Shadows by hitting them from behind, you’ll unlock the ‘Shrouded Assassin’ achievement.

Incidentally, if you unlock the Ambush mechanic and fully upgrade it, by reading the Club Escapade’s Informant’s Security Site Note, Assassin Site Note and Ninja Fansite Note (available November 15th), you’ll be able to trigger Chance Encounters by hitting enemies head on - this is definitely worth investing in when it appears later on in the game.
