How to unlock the Brilliant Growth! achievement in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis - Definitive Guide
Update: As of December 15th 2021 the level cap has been raised so I don't know when this achievements will pop now.
This is going to be a bit of a grind but still doable, the achievement is pretty straightforward
Just reach level 20 with any class, which is the max level at the point of writing. Finishing the story available at launch only got me to ~14.
The achievement doesn't pop immediately upon reaching level 20, you have to change to a level 20 class at the class counter by having a different main class equipped, then changing it back, same as the regular PSO2 achievements.
A couple of tips:
- I had a total of ~1.795.000 EXP at level 20.
- A lot of optional quests give a ton of EXP, keep an eye on these, rewards are given immediately upon completion so make sure you have the right class equipped.
- Daily quests are pretty quick and easy EXP and money, weeklies didn't seem to give EXP.
- When grinding in general, look for a busy instance with Room Transfer at the Ryuker device, and follow the group/marker doing tasks and PSE bursts as you go.
I found that people were pretty willing to accept random party invites, so feel free to join a party but it didn't seems to affect EXP gain.
- The best grinding spots are unlocked by Battle Power, a BP of 1184 gets you access to these areas.
- At this point you also gain access to urgent quests, like an 8-player mini raid, they give a reasonable chunk of EXP on defeating the boss, but can be tedious at times.
- There are structures called region mags, the one is North Aelio can give a 10% boost for 24 hour. This is a global thing based on donated resources from what I understand.
Add in the 20% rare item chance you can get from it by donating, consider grinding if the boost is active.
Please keep in mind this was close to the launch of NGS, things are likely to change and probably be a lot easier as more content is being added.
If you have anything to add or change just let me know.

There is a bug that keeps this from unlocking sometimes. How I found to get it to unlock is by switching my class out for another and when switching back to my level 20 it unlocked.

This might be listed elsewhere, but for those of that have hit level 15 but still haven't hit the minimum BP requirement, don't forget to spend your skill points as well. I completely forgot about it and was banging my head against the wall with trying to squeeze every last point out of my weapon and armor upgrades until someone pointed out my skill tree points were almost all unused. Five minutes later and I was over the hump and into the higher level areas.
