How to unlock the Restorer of Light achievement in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis - Definitive Guide

While this enemy will likely be available through a future story mission for more reliable access, as of the 6/14/2023 update it can now be found as a random boss in the "[Rank 5] Enemy Level 70" version of Mt. Magnus in Aelio Region. After extensive grinding it does not seem to appear in either Vanford Laboratory Ruins or Resol Forest. Killing variants (Silver, Golden, Malevolent, etc) will count, as I killed a Silver Herzig as a PSE Climax boss to earn my achievement.

Herzig is just the family name for "Starless" Daiytl Sword enemies. Those are the very tall bipedal enemies that usually have a large yellow weak point on the back of their neck, as seen below. Note that Daiytl Sword itself is still a possible boss spawn in Rank 5 Vanford Laboratory Ruins, but this will not count.

"Starless" enemies presently only spawn in Rank 5 Mt. Magnus, Rank 5 Vanford Laboratory Ruins and Rank 4 Resol Forest. These higher rank combat sectors are only available after earning a Battle Power rating of 3119 or greater via the Main Task New Raiding Missions. This task itself, per user Ixtab Lullaby in the comments below, only unlocks after clearing the Main Task appropriately titled "Starless", A New Enemy. If you're checking progress via the Quest Counter Admin, this will be labeled as [Scene] Chapter 6: As One Heart.

How do you unlock rank 5 locations? Even though I'm lv75, I only have rank 4 for Mt Magnus...

There should be a Main Quest/Task for Battle Power. You need a rating of 3,119 or more.

If you do all of the Creative Spaces tutorial missions, Arche will have a new shop (Genesis Points shop) available. You can buy 3 Ajax Armor and 5 Aegis Integra. The Aegis Integra can be exchanged for a Neos Astrean weapon at the Exchange Shop. That should either get you clearance, or get you pretty close.

The Starless are technically narrative-oriented enemy class, so it's possible some progression into the Ver 2 storyline released last week is required? My secondary character has access to the Rank 5 sectors, and has cleared Stia/Ver 1's story, but it may be an account-level check.

Unfortunately that's the best advice I can offer at the moment.

Okay i've done chapter 1, 2 and 3. They gave me quests for chapter 4 and 5 at the same time. Which chapter has been released last week ? :/

Just got the achievement. I confirm that you need to do every main quests to get the rank 5 locations.
The last quest just ask you to have a battle power of at least 3119, then that'll unlock the rank 5 locations automatically.
Hope it helps.

Appreciate the confirmation. Updated the solution with that and some other notes.

To add to this, I had the most luck on Rank 5 Mt Magnus, with like two instances of Herzig in two consecutive PSE Bursts. Best advise is to keep following the E and T markers within those level 70 zones triggering PSE Bursts and you should spawn it.

as Darrcyphfeid you can buy 3 Ajax Armor and 5 Aegis Integra and get the weapon but even then you can only upgrade to to +50 before you need to grind for the items to go past that unless your char is already near 3000 bp

Just in case anyone is wondering. It doesn’t appear that the current Seasonal Event Herzig enemy counts for this achievement. I hit 3227 BP today and tried doing the Quiz. Herzig spawned at the end and I didn’t pop the achievement. Sucks because I’m still in Chapter 4 of the story so I thought I’d get to finish a little early without RNG.

EDIT: Okay, so I finished all of Chapter 5 and got the mission “Advanced Raiding Parties” without having done ANY of Chapter 6. I finished that mission and ran the Seasonal Event again. I got credit in titles for Herzig Suppression I, but I didn’t get the achievement. I’m going to go try a Mt. Magnus Rank 5 now since it does show as unlocked.

2nd EDIT: Confirmed. Achievement popped in Mt. Magnus. No need to do anything in Chapter 6 and the Season Herzig doesn’t count.

Thank you! I don't know if I got extremely lucky but he spawned for me in Rank 5 Mt. Magnus literally in my very first PSE spot (is that what it's called?). It wasn't even a PSE Burst. Had the story completed if that matters.

wish there was a step by step guide on what to do after coming back to the game since the last achievement update, everything is so overwhelming makes me not want to play

Generally speaking, just do the story quests. Clear out any sidequests that seem quick and easy and use that to level your secondary job; ignore any and all sidequests that sound like they would be a pain.

The game is constantly running seasonal events that give away free gear that's equal to or better than what players had to farm to get just a handful of months previously.

Pro Tip: do the main story missions and finish chapter 5. You'll be around 75-80 if you finish everything with really good gear from those missions. After that just head to Mount Magnus on Rank 5 and he should spawn in the PvE burst. Just follow the E icon and kill everything that you can!

By this way you also get nearly all achievements. It's literally a day of grinding. A big difference between pso2.
