How to unlock the Airborne Extraction achievement in Phantom Doctrine - Definitive Guide
Howdy!
This is a bit tricky not by itself, but rather by how hard it is to actually spot the option to use heli-evac. I had quite the problem, so hopefully someone won't :)
First of all, you'll need to unlock the option, if you haven't already. To do that advance the plot a bit and make sure to collect some secret documents on missions/solve cases/analyze signals. The option should pop eventually, probably around act 2 or 3.
Then, you'll need the money. I believe the heli evac cost is 20 000, so it might take a little time to get it. You can just reload the game after you buy it (just buying it triggers the cheevo) and use the money to buy workshop upgrades or whatever, so it's not really as tedious as it looks.
Then, you're going to need to buy the evac for the mission. That's the tricky part. You'll need to have tactical recon on the mission if you somehow didn't get it earlier. After doing the recon, you may use support options. Choose one of those, as if you wanted to change the support option (say, spotter to sniper). While the options are listed, you actually have an option to buy support, indicated in the right bottom corner of the screen. Didn't see it there, did ya? :) Well, just hit the button, pick heli-evac and listen to what Microsoft did to the cool achievement pop sound of xb360 :)
Hope that helps. Other than awful controls and slightly below par graphics it's a great game, so you're probably having fun already :)
