How to unlock the You did this to yourself achievement in Phantom Dust - Definitive Guide

This is earned during the Highway: Fire of Gehenna mission. You can get this on a mission replay from the Simulator.

In my experience the best strategy is to quickly aquire the skills and then retreat to the staircase near the spawn point. From the top of the staircase you are relatively safe to attack when the enemy is at the bottom of the stairs without much chance of getting hit by his attacks.

This is bugged for me. My progress bar for this is at 90% and I've completed the level 4 times without taking any damage. Still didn't unlock :(

You can, I'll add this to the solution. I got it on a second attempt once I re-learned the game from 13 years ago myself. smile

I think one of the defensive (blue) skills you can use in the battle is "about face" which is handy to have on you if a projectile is about to hit you. It's actually pretty good for all of these early missions prior to being able to construct your own arsenal.

“Fire of Gehenna” is the fifth mission of the game. You have access to the following skills:

  • Flash Barrier
  • Bullet of Fire
  • Wall
  • Wall of Fire
  • About Face
  • Psycho Spear

The Vestio enemy will use the Fire of Gehenna skill, which damages the user by 2 HP every time they use Fire of Gehenna. Use your defense skills like Flash Barrier and About Face to block and reflect the Vestio’s attacks. If the Vestio ever breaks your defense, attack the Vestio right away by using Bullet of Fire or Psycho Spear.

If you take damage, you can replay the mission by going to the Memory Box Terminal in Visions HQ. Use the Memory Box Terminal and select simulator, then Highway. Choose the “Fire of Gehenna” mission and try again.
