You should earn this achievement by the time you reach Nile Delta.
I learned early on not to buy equipment as you will either collect it from chests or enemy drops. The only thing you need purchase are rings.
Whenever you find a merchant go through your equipment and press X to sell duplicates. Loot drops in Nile Valley and Avaris are worth around 1000k each.
You can also equip the ring of tomb raiding to increase loot drops.

You could always go offline, sell everything to reach 40k, then delete your local save and go back online to recover the cloud save.
