If you’re playing the game a lot then this may come naturally, but you can exploit the achievement tracking by save scumming at any point you like. Once you reach a point where your storage has a good amount of equipment and armour etc. in it, simply navigate to the screen, press X to begin selecting things to scrap and press A to put them in the scrap pile.

Once you have scrapped everything you have, simply reload your most recent save and then repeat the process until you’re done. Obviously the more valuable items you have, the quicker this process will be.
