This achievement is obtained by helping out the painter in the valley. His place is higher up, and you'll be able to tell by the yellow paint drips on his house.

Just talk to him, and follow his directions. He will ask you to find the pencil hat, which is in the next room. Then, he will tell you to paint a scarecrow face. After you select the canvass just back out without painting anything to unlock the achievement. (thanks Lord Marmalade).

Edit - If you draw anything on the canvass, then you would have to restart the game in order to unlock this achievement.

this achievement is missable: This achievement requires you to put on the pencil hat and then the art dude will tell you to make a scarecrow face. when you reach the board press and then when you see a big white square, you have to summit the the face blank, and then just press when you go to the board and the achievement pops.

If you complete the painting immediately, you will need to start a new game.

The first location you enter will be the Village. There is a painter in one of the houses in the sky. Head inside and talk to the painter, who will ask you to create a face for the scarecrow. You will need to complete a simple stacking puzzle to acquire the pencil. Equip the pencil and interact with the blank canvas to draw something, except you don’t want to draw anything and just hit confirm.
