How to unlock the First but not Last achievement in Pinball FX - Definitive Guide
Easiest table I found to get this on is the Garfield table.
Unfortunately it's a pay for table, but you can get a free pin pass by playing the events mode.
As you play events you'll see rewards unlocking. Eventually, after about 25 games using the free table (wild west) in events mode, the 24 hour pinpass will unlock.
This then let's you play all of the tables for free .. including Garfield.
So providing you do the above. The requirements for completing the challenge on this table are really simple.
Shoot the hole below the animated garfield three times. Lasgnas will then start filling the board. Simply hit one with the ball and that's it.
I did this in time mode so I didn't have to worry about losing balls etc.
Edit: as per supersonic you have to run through the tutorial also for the pinpass to unlock.
Also the game may require a restart for the pinpass to activate after unlocking it.

You have to do the tutorial to unlock the 24 hour pinball pass. I never got the pass at first because I skipped the tutorial.

Just a clarification: I thought initally that getting the first event reward (Zen-Original-Playing-Ball) would unlock this achievement upon completing the requirements of getting 1,273,000 points. However this did not work. You need to unlock the table reward for a table you are playing. To see the requirements for this press Select, go to progress, then press RT again, and scroll all the way down with the right bumper until you see Zen-Originals (0/13). Every table reward seems to have 1 table reward.
Since there is only Wild West Rampage for free, the requirement for the table reward is: Winning an quick-pull-duel (only Singleplayer). I managed to get into a duel actually, but didn't realize it quick enough and then i failed it, so i can't really tell how this worked. I will keep track of it.
(Please note that the descriptions are roughly translated from German and may not be that accurate).
So based upon this information, this is how you get the achievement. If you have unlocked it maybe it is helpful to clarify in a detailed way how to trigger the duel

I think you need to light up C I N D Y at the sides, then spin that wheel at the top middle left 10 full rotations, then hit the now lit "DUEL" tunnel on the far left. Then, hit the blue arrow ramp it gives you. Then, the ball is teleported to the bottom right flipper and you have one shot to hit the lady that pops up in front of the blue arrow.
EDIT: Done it a few times now, and sometimes there is no character that pops up to hit. Not sure why that is. Either way, just shoot the blue arrow ramps when it highlights them. Also, if you hit the left ramp after going into the DUEL tunnel, the ball will teleport to the LEFT flipper.

Table awards are the prizes for achieving the in-game target on each table and are the substitute for table specific PSN trophies. Most of the time it will be something to do with completing a certain minigame on the table or unlocking something. You can see the requirements for each table's collectible item on the progression page ().
As of April 2023, there are 3 free tables, and the easiest one for this task is on Wild West Rampage. The task set for this table is to win a Duel. Fortunately this is pretty reasonable to achieve in a few steps. Step 1 can take as long as you like, and there is no limit to the time taken to do step 2, but steps 3 and 4 must be done immediately after that.
Step 1: Make the sheriff's badge (1 in the image) spin around 10 times. There is a counter in the dot matrix display telling you how many you have done. Once complete, you will get a voiceover message and the red "DUEL" light will turn on at the sinkhole (2).
Step 2: Shoot a ball in the sinkhole. This will trigger an audio cutscene and eventually the ball will drop to your left flipper.
Step 3: Shoot the "WANTED" ramp just right of centre on the play area within 5 seconds. You have one, maybe 2 attempts, depending on where your first attempt goes. You can also shoot the "TRAIN" one on the left, but that is much harder in the time available
Step 4: The ball will pause for a few seconds at the top of your right flipper (or left if you hit the train ramp). At this time, look for a dropdown target of an outlaw in front of one of the lanes or sinkholes near the number 4. When the ball releases, just hit this target and your duel is complete. If you hit the train ramp and the ball is on your left flipper, the target will be somewhere on the right side of the table.

If you are attempting this trophy while a pinball pass is active, there are several tables that have even easier awards. A good example is Biolab, which you will probably get while playing the table naturally.
