Step 1:
At the top of the table, right in the middle, is a ramp with "Death Star" spelled out underneath it. Keep hitting that ramp (from the right flipper) until all the letters are lit up and an orange hologram of the Death Star appears on the table.
Step 2:
Keep hitting the hologram until the meter on the dot matrix display fills up, and then one more time to lock the ball. Repeat until you have 4 balls locked and multiball begins.
Progress carries over if you lose a ball, thankfully.
DISCOKING
Step 1: You must shoot the ball at the center silver ramp. The word DEATH STAR will be at the base of the ramp. Every time you shoot the ball up the ramp you will light one letter and hear the alarm of the Death Star sounding off. Continue to hit this ramp 9 times to completely spell DEATH STAR. After spelling DEATH STAR a spindisk pops up in the top center of the table with a 3-D holographic schematic of the Death Star spinning over it.
Step 2: You now need to shoot the little pins standing up on the spindisk to "level up the tractor beam to lock ball". A couple of shots are needed to level up the tractor beam. You can see the progress of it powering up on the DMD. After it's fully powered your ball will be sucked down into the spindisk and you will be given another one, the ball is now "locked".
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 three more times. You need to lock 4 balls. Afterwards the DEATH STAR multiball will start.
