How to unlock the Gotta collect'em all achievement in Pinball FX3 - Definitive Guide
The easiest one to get this on is the Jaws table. It only requires 140 Mastery Points to unlock the two collectibles. You can get Mastery Points by completing the challenges and leveling up your upgrades. Once you have earned 140 of the blue 'star shields', the achievement will unlock (probably right in the middle of the game, obscuring the flippers).
However the Mastery points are very unique from table to table, so more collectibles doesn't necessarily mean more Mastery Points needed & the Maximum needed is the full 200 so at the end of the day I think it depends on which table you feel you do best on but still a lower Mastery Points needed the easier it should be.
& with that I'll wish you all the best of luck
EDIT: After trying different tables, I actually do think that the easiest table have to be The Sorcherer's Lair simply because it's easier to upgrade the different stuff like bumpers, combos & skillshots not to mention that some tables don't even have them all e.g Combos aren't possible to do on all tables & so can't be upgraded (oh & a tip for skillshot on Sorcherer's Lair is; pull back the launcher with the Right Stick until just before the 2nd pibe starts steaming & release, a few tries & you'll get it every time )
Finally the achievement, which also rewards you some Mastery Points, 20 to be exact, aren't that hard either (to those who remember the Spiders achievement on FX2, they've made it MUCH easier, I weren't able to unlock it on FX2 but it popped on first try here on FX3)
As for progress needed for the achievement, I had only leveled a few of the upgrades to max. (lvl.10) & most where at lvl.6-7 & only 1 of 3 wizard powers had been leveled up (to lvl.4) while the 2 others had just been unlocked when I popped this achievement.
So while other tables might require less points they are easier to earn on the Sorcherer's Lair so again, best of luck my fellow cheevo hunters
To understand this achievement, you first need to understand how table mastery works. Your table mastery level is based on four factors:
- Earning the trophy for the table (20 stars)
- Completing One Ball, Survivor or Score Challenges (15 stars each)
- Levelling up your multiball, distance, skill shot, combo, ball save or bumper upgrades
- Levelling up your Wizard mode powers (rewind, increased scoring, slow motion)
A "mastered" table has the trophy unlocked, all 45 challenge stars, all perk upgrades maxed out at level 10 and all wizard upgrades maxed out at level 10 . You can see when a table mastery award will unlock by selecting "table mastery" on the table menu. Here you will see all of your tables' mastery rewards. While some tables need fewer mastery points to unlock all the rewards, a good chunk of those points are going to come from the table specific trophy (20 stars), the 3 challenges' stars (45 stars) and the 9 upgrades (about 15 stars each) so it's best to choose a table you're proficient in. I personally recommend “The Avengers” table. While this table has a lot of rewards or collectibles compared to some other tables, each table requires you to almost do everything anyway and this table is pretty easy to meet those requirements.
Here is an example of mastering The Avengers Table:
-
Earning the trophy for the table
- Get a bang back with the Captain America ball
-
Completing One Ball, Survivor or Score Challenges
- Doing the missions with the character specific balls on this table gives you huge rewards and makes all these challenges ridiculously easy. I personally recommend doing the Captain America and Iron Man Mission or the Black Widow and Hawkeye Mission. Both of these missions are multiballs and have high scoring rewards.
-
Levelling up your multiball, distance, skill shot, combo, ball save or bumper upgrades.
- Bumper Score Bonus - Hit the Bumpers on the table (easy to get to on this table)
- Multiball Score Bonus - Start Multiball on the table (Capt. America & Iron Man Mission or Black Widow and Hawkeye Mission)
- Skillshot Score Bonus - Hit a Skillshot on the table (Many opportunities to launch new balls on this table as you can constantly trade out your character balls)
- Combo Time Bonus - Shoot Combos on the table (lots of ramps and if done with the Capt. America ball, then an extra ball is earned)
- Distance Bonus - Cover long distances with your ball (just play over time on any table)
- Ball Save Time Bonus - Activate Ball Saves on the table (activated with each multiball on this table)
-
Levelling up your Wizard mode powers (rewind, increased scoring, slow motion)
- After earning these just continue to press to activate them and use them up. Simply using them over and over again levels these up.
Once you reach enough mastery stars for which ever table you choose the trophy will pop.
