Yeah,they certainly aren't easy games to 100% ... I've made it as far as 88 of the 100 achievements in the 360 version of FX2 & though I think there's a few more that I might be able to eventually pop, I also know that there's no way in hell I'm getting all of them ... f.ex the

is one that I'm sooo thrilled to see they've left out of FX3, it still took me FOREVER to get the "Defeat The Guards" one but actually FX3 looks to be quite a bit easier than FX2 with a few of the tricky achievements gone & the new helpful things,like slow-mo to make the perfect shot & such ... But of course that doesn't mean much for us mere mortals since it's still hard as F*ck but it do mean that unlike Fx2 I actually can fool myself into thinking that once hell freezes over in a week with 2 Thursdays I might actually 100% it hahaha 
Oh & bout this achievement, it's a bit weird how it's the only table related achievement that doesn't specify which table it's on, either by the usual "...on E.T - Extra Terrestrial Table" or by a hint in the descriptionlike on the Jaws table "You've activated JAWS mode...." actually had to check the DLC info just to figure it out, thought it was 1 of the none table related

Try weaker shots with the lower and upper flippers, alternating both orbits and the inner lanes, or shooting ramps first, then orbits and lanes (combos), that somehow triggers diverters above the WORD-lanes. I too got full orbit shots while going for the 10X multiplier.
Behind Elliot's Shed, left to the right orbit is a sinkhole with a kicker, which shoots the ball into the bumpers and through those lanes.
During Shed Multiball the balls mostly end up between the bumpers.
Unlocking this achievement is quite an effort.. and just for 5G. It took me several tries,
It may be wise not to focus on the achievement alone, just explore the table, play missions, other gamemodes and most important of all, keep the ball in play, Hope this helps.

Near the bumpers at the centre top of the table there is a hidden lane that gives you a letter each time you get the ball through it.
Every successful time you will get a letter spelling W-O-R-D appear in the dot matrix. Each time you get all 4 letters, you add x2 to the multiplier. The achievement opos when you get x10. This means you have to get all 4 letters 5 times, which is 20 times in total.
Edit: It does have to be the same ball, unless you get a multipliers held. Not sure in how you get that though.
Getting this is tricky, you have to hit the ball round the the top orbit so that it gets to just right of the top centre and falls down, but doesn’t have enough power to complete the full orbit. there are two strategies which help.
1. If you trap the ball with the bottom left flipper, then release and hit immediently, you should hit the ball straight up through the flower lane. It will have enough power to get to the top of the lane, round near the bumpers and score a letter. But not enough power that it goes around the orbit.
2. If you hit the ball round the top orbit, then when it reaches the centre you can tilt the opposite way to the direction the ball is travelling. Just be carefull to only tilt once, or you lock the table. This doesn’t work when its travelling really fast, but it will stop a slower ball that would otherwise travel the full orbit.

troyoy Not a dumb question at all, for some reason the achievements in this DLC (Universal Classics Pinball for Pinball FX3) doesn't have the typical "on ..... table" ,the correct description for this table would've been: "Multiplier was raised to maximum on the E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial table"
While it's quite easy to see on the achievement icon for Jaws & Back to the Future, it's not that obvious with E.T.

Great guide BUT ... It does actually have to be on the same ball, I just had one ball get to "x8" but when I lost the ball they were reset & had to do it all over, though this time I made it & got the achievement 
So unless you get a "Multipliers Held" as you can on most tables, you have to start over after a ballout & I have no idea how to get the "Multipliers Held" on this table, hell don't even know if it exist on this table lol

Shoot the orbits to get the ball to the top of the table. Each shot up there will light a letter of WORD. Once you spell WORD, your multiplier will increase to x2 and spelling "WORD" 5 times will put the multiplier at max (x10) and pop the trophy. Here is a video of me earning the trophy:
