Step 1: To start the Trench Run mode, you must first complete the TIE/X1 Hurry Up mode. To start the TIE/X1 hurry up mode you must shoot the left orbit 5 times. Each time you shoot the ball around the orbit you will light up 1 letter until completely spelling TIE/X1.

Step 2: Complete the hurry up. To complete the hurry up mode and ready Lord Vader's fighter you must hit 25 bumpers before the 60 second timer runs out, just keep shooting the left orbit (that spelled TIE/X1) as it will take you directly to the bumpers. After hitting 25 bumpers the Trench Run sink hole light will be lit and flashing above the bumpers.

Step 3: Shoot the ball into the Trench Run sink hole where the light is flashing. You will now be taken to an arcade type game flying Vader's Starfighter in the Death Star's trench, shooting at X-Wings.

Step 4: Shoot down 5 X-Wings.

Tips:

Hold down to shoot the whole time. Use your left flipper to steer left and Right flipper to steer right. Concentrate on not running into pillars that appear (as this is the only way your ship takes damage). After 3 hits to Vader's ship the mode is over. X-wings take 6 shots to kill.

Pillars are the only thing that hurt you and will appear after every other X-wing you destroy. The first, third and fifth X-Wings you shoot at is free and clear of pillars so just hold down and follow them for a quick kill. When shooting at the second and fourth X-Wing, pillars will start to appear in the trench. Hold down and don't focus on shooting the X-Wing (hits on it will come naturally), just focus on avoiding the pillars so it's only the second and fourth X-Wing you're shooting at in which you need to worry about dodging pillars.
