This is not as tough as it may sound; this can be done in one 3-ball game (with possible extra balls) instead on 1 ball. The number of berserkers being hit as shown in the status report will be reset on ball loss, but not in the progress of the achievement

This is done during "impare The Enemy" where vikings appear on the playfield.
Shoot 20 of these berserkers to complete the game-mode.

Relight the IMPAIR letters by shooting the right mini loop to restart Impair The Enemy and try to shoot another 20 of these guys, rinse and repeat until the achievement pops.

The above is correct, but not the only way.
There is also an event where you have to shoot sheep into the berserkers. These also count for the achievement.

You also need to shoot the ball to light the letters SHADES after every impair The Enemy mode as it alternates between them both because a barrier comes down.

Step 1: Spell IMPAIR
Spell IMPAIR by shooting the mission hole above the upper left flipper or the Sky Falls Ramp. After hitting one of these shots, the ball will travel to the upper left flipper. From there shoot the ball to the other side and you will go through a lane that goes under the ramps on the right. In the DMD (Dot Matrix Display) you will see that each shot will give you one letter to the word IMPAIR.

Step 2: Shoot The Viking Berserkers
After spelling IMPAIR the Viking Berserkers will invade the table. Shooting 20 ends the mission. If you complete the mission, this same shot will bring up the SHADES mission because a little barrier will come up blocking the ball and forcing it into into the SHADES lane. To get IMPAIR back start the SHADES mission then hold one ball and let the other ball drain to kill this multiball mission. After failing the SHADES mission you can then repeat step one to start up another IMPAIR mission to get another 20 Vikings.

Step 3: Repeat steps one and two until you shoot 50 Vikings
After shooting the 50th Viking you will earn the trophy.
