Multiball on the Pirates Pinball table is thankfully pretty easy to trigger (I managed to do so multiple times without even actively trying to do so while simply playing the table for score).
Across the table there are multiple rectangular tab targets with stars on them. You simply need to hit them all to trigger multiball.
Currently I'm actually not sure how many of these targets there are that require hitting; each time I activated multiball the last tab I hit was the one at the very top of the table near the yellow ramp (seems to be the hardest one for me to hit, likely because of the post just below it), and all the other tabs I seemed to hit without even thinking about it just from normal play. If anybody counts and shares in a comment, I'll update the solution to include it, but judging from the ease with which I triggered multiball several times, it's likely not to be required information for anyone.
