How to unlock the Fearless Fighter achievement in Pit People - Definitive Guide

Perma-death is a campaign mode added to Pit People. Essentially, when a fighter dies in battle, the fighter stays dead forever and cannot be re obtained. Losing important story characters in Perma-death will cause the file to become incompletable, but not unplayable. Only if you lose all of your fighters does the file become unplayable. In order to start a game with the Perma-death option, you must start a new file and confirm that you would like to have Perma-death activated. The game does allow you to skip the intro cut-scenes and fights, putting you right into the city with 6 characters (1 of which you have to go to your house and buy the 6th slot and equip the 6th character).

The easiest way, that I found, to win 20 battles with Perma-death activated, was to go into a private VS. match and invite a friend (who is also on Perma-death). Both players should ready up, the game will start, and then one player forfeits, instantly awarding the other player the win. After 20 times of being brought back to the pre-fight lobby, readying up, and forfeiting, the achievement will unlock. This took about 15 minutes for me and my friend to get the achievement and the process was practically effortless.

The hard way to do this achievement is to leave the city after starting a perma-death file and fighting single groups of enemies and then heading back to the city to heal. This method is time consuming as some groups of enemies are incredibly annoying and large. There is also no guarantee that you won't lose a fighter during the process. (If this is your only option to get the achievement, I would recommend that if you lose a fighter, to just erase the file and start a new perma-death file. You can instantly spawn in the city in the new file with a full team and start doing more battles). Generally battles using this method were lasting somewhere up to almost 10 minutes and the added stress of having to make sure no one dies, on top of the fact that all of the characters were low levels, made it much more difficult than it needed to be.

Based on that information I would highly recommend the Vs. forfeit method. It will save you a lot of effort and time. If you don't have any friends who own the game, I would suggest either setting up a boosting session here on TA or using the "# want to boost" feature, to see who is interested in boosting the game.

If there are any questions or concerns, please leave a comment below and I will try to reply to you to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for the solution. Helped a lot! One thing though, I believe the PermaDeath mode isn't new. I think it was already available at launch. BUT good solution ;-)

Permadeath may not be new as of the games release, but I have played the game since it was in early access and it definitely is a new concept I never saw before.

Deschain019 you can have about 6 different saves for this game. You have to select new game from title menu, permadeath mode and choose a different save slot.

Just want to add that you can also get it with 2 controllers, where the 2nd controller forfeits. You do have to complete one quest with your main account to unlock the pit. I picked a fairly easy one (2 skulls) from the side quest

The co op solution is amazing, and it still works here in May '21. +1

As described in the Road Map, PermaDeath is a difficulty modifier where units who are killed are lost to you forever. If story characters die, the game ends and you must begin a new one. You can do this achievement in one of two ways. First, just play the story naturally and win 20 battles total. Obviously this can be somewhat difficult and if you lose a unit you'll need to capture or purchase a replacement. The easier method would be to find a boosting partner and go into a private PVP match with them, then start and forfeit 20 matches for each other. As soon as the battle starts, just quit and your opponent will receive a win. Make sure they return the favor!
