Once you have 6 people and can have a full party (after you capture the cupcake, you'll be asked to capture one more) and then TRY a quest (you can pick one and then go right back to town) , you can go to the pit. The left is against AI, the right is for PvP. You can get this in a private match with someone you invite. Not always other people playing, so it may be best to get a friend or dummy to get this quickly.

Not sure if anyone is still looking to get the achievements, but I’ve found anytime I’ve searched for a match it comes up short and I don’t know anyone who own this game, so my gamertag is SageTHeCrow add me for a match

Just a tip if trying to get this legit; If you're alone and end up against a team of two, you can log in with a guest version of your profile with a second controller and play with any of your teams.
There is a time limit to your turn so you'll need to move both teams rather quickly, but it's definitely doable against randoms.

The, Pants, Party
The Pit can be accessed after completing any quest. Once you return to the town, select The Pit and press X in the main room to make online play active (green light). When the light is orange, you're on local play. Enter the room to the right and search for a match. I would suggest a party setup similar to what I used for "Are You Not Entertained?" unless you feel more comfortable with something else.
